The Best And Most Outrageous 2024 Grammys Looks: Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo and More Stars
Metallics ruled the red carpet at the 2024 Grammys, almost from the very first moment.
Dua Lipa â a double nominee for âDance the Nightâ from Barbie The Album â turned up early on the 2024 Grammys red carpet because she was the broadcastâs opening act and immediately set the nightâs style tone in a silver-fringed gown by creative director Nicolas di Felice for CourrĂšges, paired with impressive jewels by Tiffany & Co.
That focus on metals continued in elegant and artful ways. The Grammys have always been the odd duck, fashion-wise, of the awards season, and thatâs meant only as a compliment. On musicâs biggest night, attendees embrace the essence of artistry and creativity and that extends to their sartorial choices. While other awards shows largely exude elegance and occasionally a splash of grandeur, the Grammys are about exhibiting a musicianâs mettle.
That was true of many of the looks that followed, powerful style worn by musicâs most powerful women and men. Miley Cyrus put many viewers in mind of a gladiator in a custom Maison Margiela fashioned from hundreds of gold safety pins, while Victoria MonĂ©tâs shimmering bronze Atelier Versace corset gown likewise evoked thoughts of armor â she looked the part of a maternal warrior, as she held her daughter, Hazel, dressed by the Italian house in the same fabric. Jon Batiste, meanwhile, channeled a Scottish Highlander in his silver Atelier Versace suit with kilt.
Who shone brightest on the 2024 Grammys red carpet? Hereâs a roundup at 15 high-profile looks that blended artistry with high fashion, including Taylor Swift in a stunning gown by Daniel Roseberry for Schiaparelli. The nightâs winner for best pop vocal album for Midnights exceeded her fansâ expectations with both her style and a surprise announcement. Swift paired a Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown with more than 300 carats of black and white diamonds by jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, including a choker embellished with black diamonds framing a vintage watch â set to midnight, of course. Upon accepting her Grammy, Swift capped her speech by revealing the details of her next album release: The Tortured Poets Department, set for April 19.

Fresh on the heels of Maison Margiela becoming the most talked-about haute-couture presentation of the Spring 2024 season, Miley Cyrus caused a frenzy on social media by turning up in a custom look by the houseâs creative director, John Galliano. This warrior-like âArtisanalâ dress is crafted of 14,000 gold safety pins and required 675 hours of handwork. Christian Louboutin designed the matching Tabi ankle-strap pumps, crafted of aged-yellow velour and gold faux lizard.

The double nominee for âDance the Nightâ from Barbie The Album exuded a sort of â70s relaxed glamour in this shimmering CourrĂšges silver-fringe gown with hip cutouts by creative director Nicolas Di Felice. But it was her Tiffany & Co. jewels that turned the volume up to 11, including a platinum and yellow-gold necklace embellished with sapphires, rubellites and diamonds, including an orange sapphire totaling more than 23 carats at its center, all from the jewelerâs 2023 Blue Book Collection.

The best new artist winner channeled the nightâs metallic trend in this bronze custom corset gown by Atelier Versace â her young daughter, Hazel, likewise wore a custom dress by the Italian house in the same fabric. Fold in MonĂ©tâs diamond-embellished Serpenti jewels by Bulgari, and what was the Grammy winnerâs vibe on the red carpet? âI feel expensive,â she told E!âs Laverne Cox.

The double nominee, including for best country album for the aptly named Bell Bottom Country, said she wanted to channel a Johnny Cash vibe in her all-black suit, a custom look by Olivier Rousteing for Balmain. Wilsonâs jewels are by Pomellato.

The women on boygenius tend to eschew matching looks on the red carpet, but not at Sundayâs Grammy Awards. The trio opted for coordinating custom tuxedos by Thom Browne, crafted of white silk moirĂ© with white satin armbands and white single satin tipping, paired with button-down point collar shirts in white silk double organza, black silk-faille ties and uniform shoes in black calf leather.
Lenny Kravitz in Rick Owens

The ultra-stylish Kravitz is confident enough in his sartorial choices to mix labels with aplomb. At Sundayâs event, he paired Rick Owens and Chrome Hearts with vintage Dior sunglasses (translation: they werenât borrowed) and jewelry by Loree Rodkin.
Olivia Rodrigo in Versace

With six nominations, Rodrigo was in the mood for high-profile glamour. So when she spotted this Versace gown, worn by Linda Evangelista on a 1995 runway, she sent it to her stylist as the top of her wish list. And soon enough, the dress was pulled from the Versace archives for Rodrigo to wear at the Grammys. She paired the look with diamond and gemstone high jewelry by Bulgari.
Coco Jones in Celia Kritharioti

Jonesâ five nominations included best R&B album for What I Didnât Tell You (Deluxe), so she likewise was in the mood for a star-making turn Sunday night. She accomplished that nicely in this sheer gown with a deep plunging neckline by Greece-based designer Celia Kritharioti.

Sleek, artfully constructed black gowns were another style trend at the 66th annual Grammy Awards, including this Monot design worn by Carly Pearce, nominated for best country duo/group performance for We Donât Fight Anymore. Pearce paired the dress with Yessayan jewels and Stuart Weitzman shoes.
