The Best Dressed Stars of the Week Embraced Latex, Cutouts, and Sequins

It was a great week for statement dressing on the red carpet. The best dressed stars over the past few days were those who embraced designs with high-impact finishes—be it latex, cutouts, or high-shine sequins. As we near the beginning of summer, Hollywood celebrities are ushering in the new season with a sprightly fashion spirit. The dressing consensus? It’s time to stop playing it safe.

In Shanghai, Oscar-winning actor Michelle Yeoh attended the resort 2025 Balenciaga show in one of the label’s disco ball gowns. The silhouette, complete with a plunging neckline, was juxtaposed against a classic black overcoat—the perfect mix of demure and bold. Another star who nailed the approach? Daisy Ridley, who reimagined the classic LBD in a latex Atsuko Kudo style. Chloë Sevigny, meanwhile, leaned more ethereal in her babydoll-shaped dress by Renaissance Renaissance, one of fashion’s buzziest brands of the moment.

Florals also had a moment on the step and repeats this week. (It is, after all, still spring.) Kylie Minogue shined in an Erdem floral gown with a bow detail; Dakota Fanning chose an elegant Oscar de la Renta frock with floral embroidery; and British actor Greta Bellamacina slipped into a tulle Simone Rocha dress with floral embellishments—the high-fashion equivalent of a bouquet.
