The Best Way to Travel Between Guangzhou & Shenzhen Airport

For frequent travelers between Guangzhou, Dongguan, and Shenzhen, the convenience of the Guangzhou East Station to Shenzhen Baoā€™an Airport intercity route was unmatched.Ā

Launched in 2019, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway stopped at Dongguan West Station before reaching Shenzhen Baoā€™an Airport, providing seamless access to one of Chinaā€™s busiest airports.Ā

However, as of June 15, the route has been altered, and trains no longer depart from Guangzhou East Station, instead starting from the newly added Xintang South Station.

An official announcement confirmed that, starting September 1, the route would be operated by a subsidiary of Shenzhen Metro Group.Ā

As of now, however, the route remains unchanged and still departs from Xintang South Station.

Since the route adjustment, the practicality of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway has significantly decreased, with operational challenges continuing to mount.Ā
