The Big Suikoden Livestream Was a Bust (Unless You’re into the Mobile Game)

Star Leap of logic

The latest Suikoden Live is done and dusted, and although many fans of the series thought that this lengthy livestream might feature spicy remaster announcements, we’re sorry to say that there was no sign of any PlayStation-related stuff.

Most of the 20-minute showcase featured Suikoden Star Leap — the upcoming mobile game. The rest covered the appropriately named Suikoden: The Anime, which is airing in 2026.

Again, there was a lot of speculation surrounding this broadcast — mainly because Konami had previously said that the event would last a whopping 1 hour and 30 minutes. We’re not entirely sure what happened on that front!

Given the reported success of Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster, there’s been a push for Konami to turn its attention to later titles in the series. Suikoden 3 and 4, for example — two underrated PS2 RPGs, plenty would argue — are pretty much prime candidates for the remaster treatment.

Robert (or Rob if you’re lazy) is an assistant editor of Push Square, and has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he’s played ’em all. A little too much, some might say.
