Newcomers to Persona often struggle with effectively managing their SP. So, in this guide, we will breakdown all of the Persona 3 Reload SP recovery items
One of the best aspects of Persona games is their in-depth and engaging combat systems. And Persona 3 Reload is no slouch in this regard. Carrying over the classic turn-based battle style that is iconic to the franchise, Persona 3 Reload has greatly refined its mechanics from the original entry. However, despite streamlining the battle system, many newcomers struggle with properly grasping it. This is especially true when it comes to recovering their SP – the fuel for your Persona’s abilities. So, in this article, we will guide you through how to best utilize the Persona 3 Reload SP recovery items. Let’s dive in!

When you are venturing through Tartarus, you are bound to run into many enemies. The best way to put them down is by using your special Persona attacks that will use up some of your SP. However, if you did not come prepared, then you are bound to run out of SP at some point. That is not an ideal situation to be in!
To prevent this ordeal, you have a few options that you can consider. Here’s the breakdown:
In the beginning parts of the game, you won’t have many viable options to restore your SP. Your best bet would be to buy SP recovery items from vending machines. Unfortunately, not all vending machines sell these items. However, two particular vending machines do. The first is located in the Student Dorm on the same floor as your room near the stairs. The second is located in Iwotodai Station. Avoid the mall and head straight towards the upper right corner of the station. You will find a vending machine there that sells SP restore items.
You also have the option to buy SP recovery items from Mayoido Antiques. However, this location does not open until July 18. Additionally, you will need gems from Tartarus to buy them, which can be a bit rare to come by. So, you will have to either resort to buying SP items from vending machines or hope that you come by some when going through Tartarus.Â

There are a few approaches you can take to find SP recovery items in Persona 3 Reload. They are:
Explore Tartarus – You can randomly come by SP recovery items when exploring through Tartarus. Make sure to search through every chest you can find as there will always be a chance that they contain a SP item. Use them wisely though as they are going to be more potent than the SP items from vending machines.
Get the Iwatodai Forum note – Go to Club Escapade in Paulownia Mall once you can pass the skill check. You will find a Suspicious Man there selling an Iwatodai Forum note. Purchase it and head back to your dorm. Interact with the PC in the dorm and read the note. This will unlock more SP drinks in the Iwatodai Station vending machine. Keep in mind that the stock of SP recovery items in vending machines is limited, and you have to revisit these spots once in a while, as they reset their offer.
Wait for the Antiques Shop to open – As mentioned in the previous section, you can also find SP recovery items from the Mayoido Antiques shop located between Aohige Pharmacy and the Mandragora Karaoke bar. But you will have to wait for it to open on July 18.Â
Using Twilight Fragments – Twilight Fragments are an extremely precious item in Persona 3 Reload. You can use them by activating clocks in Tartarus to completely restore your entire party’s HP and SP. With that said, we would actually advise against doing so as these rare fragments are required to open specific chests.Â
Final Thoughts
Proper management of SP is key to making successful runs through Persona 3 Reload’s main dungeon. Failure to do so may end up with you hitting a roadblock against a powerful enemy and not having enough power to bring it down. So, our advice to you would be – conserve your SP items, open every chest you can find, don’t engage in unnecessary battles, and explore Tartarus one chunk at a time.Â
