The good, the bad, and the ugly: Saints vs. Panthers
The Good: Alvin Kamara
Alvin Kamara was one of the bright spots for the New Orleans Saints on Sunday as he usually is. Kamara ran 29 times for 155 yards and caught 6 passes for 60 yards. This was Kamara’s highest yardage output of the season, but unfortunately the performance was squandered as the rest of the Saints offense didn’t do much to help him. Kamara now sits just 11 yards behind Mark Ingram for the franchise career rushing record, a mark he will hit next week. Let’s hope he does it in a win.

The Bad: Finishing Drives
The Saints had three double-digit play drives end in field goals on Sunday and also had three 3-and-outs. The final drive of the game was a debacle as the Saints tried a deep pass on 4th and 4 that was predictably incomplete. They also went 5 for 15 on third down, and despite outgaining the Carolina Panthers by 181 yards and won the turnover battle, still lost because they could not put together more than two touchdown drives against the NFL’s worst defense.
The Ugly: Chris Olave’s injury
Chris Olave suffered another ugly injury on a high pass from Derek Carr that led to a bad helmet to helmet hit that left him with a concussion. This is just the latest in a multitude of head injuries Olave has unfortunately sustained in his career, and the second injury he has suffered this season. The Saints are going to miss their best receiver while he is out, and we hope Olave does whatever is in his best interest for his health rather than be rushed back before he is healthy and ready to go.
