Last year, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison sliced and diced the Green Bay Packers’ defense in a win at Lambeau Field.

Naturally, Vikings fans want him to do it again — and there’s a reasonable chance of that happening in Week 4.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted Wednesday, four days before Packers-Vikings: “Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell tells reporters that WR Jordan Addison (ankle) will practice in (likely limited) capacity today, and he is hopeful he can play Sunday.”
O’Connell’s words? “Hopefully getting Jordan back out there this week.”

Addison has missed the last two games, a six-point triumph over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2 and a thorough 34-7 beatdown of the Super Bowl-contending Houston Texans last weekend. In Addison’s stead, Justin Jefferson has authored Jeffersonian games, while WR3 Jalen Nailor has stepped up as an adept WR2. If Addison returns, per the optimistic Rapoport tweet, Minnesota will inch closer to full health on offense.
Meanwhile, Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson remains on the shelf for at least one more game with a torn ACL, eligible to return next weekend in London. O’Connell mentioned Hockenson, too: “He’s doing great. I’ll continue to defer to the medical staff on that. Hoping to get T.J. up and rolling as soon as possible.”
Sources tell VikingsTerritory that a more realistic return for Hockenson is around Week 8 when the Vikings travel to Los Angeles for a meeting with the Rams. Minnesota is taking the cautious route with Hockenson, allowing his torn ACL to heal fully without risk of re-injury. And with the franchise sitting nicely at 3-0, treading gingerly with his recovery makes sense. Why rush the man back when the enterprise is humming in the meantime?

Minnesota lost Addison in Week 1 at the New York Giants, injuring his ankle and sidelining the young playmaker for at least two games. A month earlier, Addison injured the other ankle, so Addison has worked through a double batch of adverse circumstances.
The Vikings found Jordan Addison 16 months ago in the 2023 NFL Draft, and he quickly manufactured a memorable rookie season by showing instant credibility as a transferrable college-to-pro receiver in the league. Addison totaled 70 receptions, 911 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns in 2023. Two months ago, though, California Highway Patrol arrested Addison for suspicion of DUI, a matter he’s scheduled to address in court on October 7th. If convicted, he’ll likely face a suspension, probably in the neighborhood of three games.

Minnesota will announce an official injury designation for Addison on Friday afternoon. A fair percentage on his chances of playing is about 60%.
The Packers are favored to defeat the Vikings by 2.5 points.
