Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

NFL rookie rankings at quarter mark of 2024 season: Jayden Daniels edges out Malik Nabers for No. 1 spot – NFL.com
5) QUINYON MITCHELL. DRAFTED: Round 1, No. 22 overall. Starting across from 12th-year veteran and six-time Pro Bowler Darius Slay, Mitchell has been targeted frequently. But the rookie out of Toledo has held his own, showcasing the ability to defend receivers of all sizes, speeds and play styles. Whether striding with speed merchants like Christian Watson and Rashid Shaheed or banging with power forwards like Drake London and Mike Evans, the 6-foot, 193-pounder is up to the challenge. Mitchell isn’t infallible in coverage, but he’s definitely had his share of wins, routinely accentuating his PBUs with verbal exclamation points.

Eagles Film Room: Concept of the Week – Sail – BGN
In addition to writing the All22 offense and defense reviews after each Eagles game this year, I will also write this one called ‘Concept of the Week.’ I will break down a specific concept or play on offense and defense and explain the play in more detail. Hopefully, this will allow you to look out for that play in future weeks. This week, we will look at Sail. The Eagles will run this play again!

In Roob’s Eagles Stats, the good (not much), the bad (a lot), the ugly (even more) – NBCSP
4. The Eagles have gone six consecutive games without scoring in the first quarter for the first time since 1955, when they had a seven-game stretch of games without a 1st-quarter point. That streak started in Week 4 in at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh in a 13-7 loss to the Steelers and continued through Week 10 and a 23-21 loss to the Rams at Connie Mack Stadium. It finally ended in Week 11 when Dick Bielski kicked a 24-yard field goal in the first quarter of a 27-3 win over the Cards, also at Connie Mack. The Eagles’ last 1st-quarter touchdown was scored by Julio Jones.

NFL Week 5 picks, schedule, odds, injuries, fantasy tips – ESPN
Stat to know: The Cowboys are averaging a league-low 75.3 rushing yards per game. That’s the fourth-worst mark in franchise history through the first four games. Bold prediction: Steelers running back Najee Harris will have 100-plus rushing yards. Even after the Cowboys allowed a league-low 1.2 yards per designed running play to the Giants, they still are the worst team in the league in terms of EPA allowed per designed carry. Harris should be able to take advantage.

After seeing Jayden Daniels in action, Commanders fans are bullish about immediate and season-long prospects – Hogs Haven
At the moment, the Commanders are 3-1 overall, 1-0 in division games, and sit atop the NFC East. A month ago, this would have seemed nearly to be the best-case scenario for the team. In a Reacts survey done on Hogs Haven prior to the opening game of the season, 83% of fans surveyed predicted either 2 or 3 wins for the team in the month of September, with only 4% of those surveyed believing that the team would go undefeated. Having achieved a great start in the first four weeks of the Adam Peters/Dan Quinn/Jayden Daniels era, we turned the focus of the Reacts survey questions to the upcoming October games in this week’s survey. The results show that fans expect the early season success to continue.

Dallas Cowboys fans not moved by Giants win, see a loss to the Steelers – Blogging The Boys
So even though the Cowboys won, on the road, in the division, it was still not enough to really inspire the fanbase. It will take more. We asked you earlier this week about your confidence in the direction of the franchise, and only 11% are confident the team is heading in the right direction. That is actually a 6% increase from last week’s figure of 5%. Clearly, the masses are unconvinced.

Big Blue View mailbag: Daniel Jones, Brian Daboll, offensive line … the usual – Big Blue View
James, I was in that locker room after Thursday’s game. I have written about that and talked about it on my podcast — I do not see a team that is turning on each other or the head coach. I saw a team that was disappointed. Dexter Lawrence in particular is not willing to accept the losing, and as a guy who is emerging as THE leader of the Giants, he was making that clear. Could the Giants be 1-7 a month from now? Sure. They could also be 4-4. Just let it play out. With a couple of plays in Weeks 2 and 4 they could be 3-1 right now, and the conversation would be different. They are what they are, and they have played themselves into 1-3. The Giants will be underdogs in those games, but I don’t see any super teams that can’t be beaten. Do I think Daboll makes it to the end of the season? Absolutely. This is not a Ben McAdoo situation where the locker room is imploding. If that happens, then maybe I would revisit this, but right now I don’t see it. As I have also said before, I think it is far too early to conclude that Daboll won’t be the coach beyond this season.

Davante Adams forces NFL fans to recall their poetry – SB Nation
However, the latest twist to the tale has every member of the sports media world reaching back to their high school days, and remembering their poetry. Or trying to, that is. On Friday Adams posted an image of none other than Edgar Allan Poe, the famous American poet and author of numerous works of mystery and macabre. Including, of course, “The Raven,” a work that tells the story of a mournful student lamenting the loss of his lover, and a visit from a talking raven.

MLB Playoffs: Five reasons the Phillies are built for a World Series run – The Good Phight
This year, the Phillies are National League East champs. They ended a six-year run of divisional dominance by the injury-plagued Atlanta Braves and held off the hard-charging Mets to secure their first division title since 2011. They appear to be a team primed for another fun-filled #RedOctober, with five main reasons to believe this year’s group is different from the 2022-23 iterations (as well as one big reason to worry a similar fate lurks around the darkened corner).
