Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

Eagles mailbag: Is Nick Sirianni fulfilling his ‘CEO coach’ responsibilities? – PhillyVoice
Question from BirdsfaninKS: What’s the number of consecutive losses that I have to root for before Jeffrey Lurie fires Sirianni? The Eagles’ next four opponents have a combined record of 5-15. Browns: 1-4, Giants: 2-3, Bengals: 1-4, Jaguars: 1-4. The Eagles more or less fired Sean Desai after 13 games last year. They have shown that they will make in-season changes if things are not going the way they had hoped. If they are like 3-5 or something after that stretch of games while teams like the Commanders and Cowboys are extending their lead over the Eagles in the division, and Sirianni is at least partially to blame, it wouldn’t surprise me if they made a change.

Your daily Eagles trivia game, Monday edition – BGN
We’re back for another day of the Bleeding Green Nation in-5 daily trivia game, and we’re returning to our system of a new article each day for the game. We tried using a single article for the game, updated with the latest game each day, but it was creating a bit of an unwieldy experience in the comments. So, we’ll have the current day’s game plus the previous three days in each new article. That way, you can catch up if you miss a day.

Interesting Off Day – Iggles Blitz
I’m really curious to see how this season plays out. The Eagles have enough talent that they could get hot and build up a good record. They also have some flaws that could be problematic all year long. The NFL was nuts on Sunday, with upsets and wild games all over the place. It was a good reminder to expect the unexpected. It was probably a good thing the Eagles were off. God only knows what kind of craziness they would have given us. Sirianni better have some answers ready for his team this week. They need to get back on track in a hurry.

Reviewing all of Howie Roseman’s moves this offseason after 2-2 start – NBCSP
April 1: Traded OLB Haason Reddick. The Eagles finally traded away Reddick after months of speculation. In return from the Jets, the Eagles got a 2026 third-round pick that can turn into a second-rounder if certain conditions were met. That isn’t going to happen. Reddick would need to get 10+ sacks and play over 67.5% of the Jets’ defensive snaps. Those metrics were attainable but Reddick is in a contract impasse with the Jets and has been holding out. He has missed their first five games of the season and it looks like there’s no end in sight to the holdout. On one hand, the Eagles clearly knew Reddick was unhappy with his contract and at least they got something for him. But the Eagles would clearly be a better team with Reddick, especially because their pass rush has struggled to generate any kind of consistent pressure. Maybe the Eagles should have just paid him.

Jameis Winston time for the Browns at QB? HC Kevin Stefanski shares the plan – Dawgs By Nature
At a base level, Stefanski is not wrong. Everything about the offense has been bad, not just Watson. That has compounded things overall for the team on that side of the ball. No running game makes throwing the ball more difficult. Poor protection makes throwing the ball more difficult. On the other hand, Watson is paid to lift the ships around him. The trade assets and cap space allocated to the quarterback require that he be able to take the team to another level. Even a Watson apologist would say that he has not done that. Inserting Winston does not fix the other problems but it could give the team a spark. The two quarterbacks play the game differently, see the game differently and look to succeed in different ways. Even if Watson isn’t the sole reason for the Browns offense is struggling, every option should be on the table including making a switch at quarterback. [BLG Note: The Eagles play the Browns in Week 6.]

2024 NFL season, Week 5: What We Learned from Sunday’s games – NFL.com
Daniels continues to roll. Another week, and another example of how Jayden Daniels is quickly transforming Washington from a woeful franchise into one of the most hopeful in the NFL. Daniels is special and proved it time and time again, taking off for big gains on scrambles (six for 65 yards) and throwing on the run effortlessly (three scramble pass attempts for 88 yards, including a beautiful early deep shot to Terry McLaurin ). Third down became a nightmare for Cleveland’s defense because of Daniels, who helped Washington convert 8 of 17 attempts. Daniels finished with 238 yards and a majestic touchdown pass to Dyami Brown , and led the Commanders’ potent rushing attack with 82 yards on 11 attempts. He was the riddle that was impossible for the Browns to solve, and although his completion percentage was lower than he’d posted through his first month as a pro, he once again made it look effortless in an easy win.

Commanders Vs. Browns – Studs and Duds – Hogs Haven
Jayden Daniels – This wasn’t Jayden’s best game, but that just goes to show how good the rookie is. He did throw an interception at the goal line and had some uncharacteristic over-throws, but his 14 receptions went for 238 yards and a touchdown (he should have had two if not for McLaurin dropping a beautifully thrown ball in the endzone), and he added 82 rushing yards in just over three quarters of play. He really is something special this early in his young career.

Dallas Cowboys beat Pittsburgh Steelers recap: Dramatic, final-second touchdown gets late-night win – Blogging The Boys
We said last week that you never apologize for winning in the NFL. For the second week in a row… the Dallas Cowboys owe zero apologies. It took just about every single second, all of which were delayed almost 90 minutes thanks to weather, but the Dallas Cowboys emerged victorious over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. A late touchdown from Dak Prescott to Jalen Tolbert officially iced it, but the game was almost lost when the Cowboys refused to capitalize on their redzone opportunities. Thankfully Dallas stood tall when it mattered most, including most of the night on defense. It was a weirdly memorable game despite the fact that there was so little offense involved. But the good guys won and are 3-2. And they did it amid another litany of injuries.

NFL Week 5: Biggest questions, takeaways for every game – ESPN
Have the Giants finally turned the corner? This young team is playing better each week. They not only won on the road in a difficult environment in Seattle, but they did it without star wide receiver Malik Nabers (concussion) and starting running back Devin Singletary (groin). Quarterback Daniel Jones continues to play well, the offensive line is improved, the defensive line is feasting (five sacks), and the young secondary played its best game of the season. There is finally reason to be optimistic about the Giants.

Giants-Seahawks ‘things I think’: Since when do good things happen to the Giants? – Big Blue View
The New York Giants may well have changed the course of their 2024 season with their improbable, exhilarating 29-20 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Through a 1-3 start to the 2024 season, not to mention a 6-11 2023 season, we have spent a lot of time talking about how the Giants have consistently found ways to lose winnable games. Losses in Week 2 to the Washington Commanders and Week 4 to the Dallas Cowboys fell into that category. Plays like this? The New York Football Giants don’t make plays like this. At least not the Giants of recent vintage.

Aaron Rodgers is mid, and this Jets experiment is a failure – SB Nation
Aaron Rodgers was supposed to be the missing piece to the puzzle. The all-in gambit by the Jets to follow in the footsteps of Tom Brady in Tampa and Matthew Stafford on the Rams to lift the Jets out of mediocrity to bring a Super Bowl ring to the Jets. We’re now five weeks in and it’s abundantly clear that not only is this plan failing, but that Rodgers just doesn’t have it anymore. Sunday in London was the perfect encapsulation of this team’s problems, and it all felt so familiar. The Vikings weren’t particularly dynamic on offense, the Jets had easily done enough defensively to win the game — which included holding Justin Jefferson to under 100 yards receiving, stopping Jordan Addison from making big plays, and keeping Sam Darnold from being comfortable in the pocket, holding him to under 50 percent completion. Stop me if you’ve heard this before: The Jets lost because of horrible quarterback play.
