Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

NFL Week 6 picks, schedule, odds, injuries, fantasy tips – ESPN
Bold prediction: Eagles QB Jalen Hurts will throw three or more touchdowns. With Brown and Smith returning and Philadelphia coming off a bye, I think the Eagles’ passing game is going to find its rhythm against the single-high heavy Browns. [BLG Note: Hurts’ last game with at least three passing touchdowns came against the Arizona Cardinals late last season. He’s thrown for at least three passing touchdowns in eight of his 60 career starts. The last QB with at least three passing touchdowns against the Browns was C.J. Stroud in the playoffs last season.] […] Stat to know: Deshaun Watson has a 21 total QBR this season, which is the fourth-worst total QBR in team’s first five games of the season among 480 QBs to start all five games since ESPN introduced the metric in 2006.

Eagles vs. Browns Game Preview: 5 questions and answers with the enemy – BGN
5 – Who wins this game and why? With the Eagles currently listed as 8.5-point home favorites, what’s your score prediction? And then what’re you expecting from the rest of this Browns season? The Browns can’t even score 20 points on offense. I don’t have a score prediction yet, but I’m not expecting Cleveland to win a game until they prove they can have some semblance of an identity on offense. I think the only hope I have this week would be the fact that Philly really slumped at the end of last season, and Jalen Hurts has struggled with turnovers. When you have two teams that unpredictably shoot themselves in the foot, maybe it opens the door for Cleveland to snap out of their slump. I’m expecting the Browns to get a boost when Chubb returns, but I can’t be overly optimistic knowing that Watson is the main guy. There is one possible saving grace: Cleveland has not played a division game yet. If something somehow clicks, the AFC North could technically still be up for grabs a bit.

Can the Browns save their season on Sunday? – Dawgs By Nature
The Eagles are coming off their bye week and are getting star wide receiver A.J. Brown back from injury. For the Browns, the injuries have limited the team in practice as Denzel Ward battles a hamstring injury that has kept him out of practice so far this week. If the Browns lose another game, it will effectively end any hopes of making the playoffs. While it won’t eliminate them mathematically, the chances of this team going 9-2 down the stretch are impossible with the schedule ahead.

DeVonta Smith weighs in on the hit that gave him a concussion – NBCSP
DeVonta Smith has cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol and spoke publicly on Friday for the first time since his concussion in New Orleans. It was a scary scene at the Superdome on Sept. 22 when a hit from Saints DL Khristian Boyd left Smith concussed in the fourth quarter. Does Smith think the hit was dirty? “Nah, I don’t feel like it was dirty or nothing,” Smith said on Friday. “He didn’t hit me in the head or nothing like that. More so, I feel like the whistle should have been blown.” Boyd was fined $4,665 by the NFL for the late hit (unnecessary roughness) after not being penalized on the field. Typically, a hit on a defenseless receiver brings a fine of $16,883 but a first-offense fine can’t total more than 10% of a player’s salary cap hit for the week. That’s why Boyd’s fine was so minimal.

A film about Philly’s mightiest ‘Underdogs,’ brought to you by Jason Kelce and Connor Barwin – Inquirer
Following the success of the Prime Video documentary Kelce, former Philadelphia Eagles Connor Barwin and Jason Kelce continue to dip their toes into filmmaking. But instead of the grit of the gridiron, they captured a different kind of Philly sports story. They’re focusing on South Philly’s Vare Gymnastics Team in the short documentary Underdogs, which premieres at the Philadelphia Film Festival on Oct. 22. The 26-minute film spotlights the triumphs of an underfunded gymnastics squad, who leap past the challenges they faced after the closing of the historic but dilapidated Vare Recreation Center in 2022.

Spadaro: Adam Berry hopes to have the last laugh over twin brother, Browns GM Andrew, this Sunday – PE.com
This is a full-circle moment for Adam Berry, the Eagles’ Vice President of Football Operations and Strategy, who on Sunday will again be in competition against his twin brother, Andrew, the Cleveland Browns’ General Manager. It has been this way for their entire lives – love intertwined with full support, admiration, encouragement, and, of course, the game of football. More than anything, though, competition. Intense competition. “It’s kind of always been that way with us,” Adam says, laughing in his office at the NovaCare Complex. “We have that in us.”

Commanders vs Ravens Friday Injury Report: Brian Robinson is a game-time decision again – Hogs Haven
The Washington Commanders had their final practice of the week, and have announced their injury report for Sunday’s away game against the Baltimore Ravens. Rookie safety Tyler Owens is the only player ruled out, missing his second game with a shin injury. Brian Robinson has been dealing with a knee injury that kept him out of practice all week. He only practiced once last week, and was considered a game-time decision, and Dan Quinn said that would be his status again this week. He’s listed as questionable, and Quinn said it feels more like a short-term issue, and they wouldn’t put him out there if there were concerns long-term.

5 things to watch when the Cowboys play the Lions on Sunday – Blogging The Boys
1. A tough test ahead for the run defense. It’s nice to see the Cowboys’ run defense improve over the last couple of weeks, but the challenge they face this week will be tough. The Lions feature a dynamic tandem of runners in David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. Montgomery provides a consistent punch and Gibbs will hurt you with his explosiveness. Since joining the Lions last year, Montgomery has had the fourth-best rushing success rate while Gibbs has had the sixth-best explosive run rate (courtesy of NextGenStats). These two collectively put up almost 140 yards per game on the ground. The Cowboys’ defense will have to do a good job clogging the middle and be physical when tackling. If defenders fail to fill voids or miss tackles, this could be a long day for the defense.

Giants injury news: Malik Nabers OUT, Devin Singletary, Jamie Gillan questionable – Big Blue View
The New York Giants will be without receiver Malik Nabers against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football, as the star rookie has yet to clear the concussion protocol. The bad, yet not unexpected, news was delivered by head coach Brian Daboll during his remarks before Friday’s practice. The outlook for Nabers looked dim when Daboll said Thursday that he hadn’t progressed in the concussion protocol since Wednesday. Observers of Thursday’s practice noted that Nabers was just riding the stationary bike on the side during the on-field portion of practice. Nabers suffered the concussion late in the fourth quarter of the Giants’ week 4 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football. Nabers went to the ground hard as he attempted to catch a pass along the sideline on 4th down. He was immediately taken off the field and into the blue medical tent for evaluation. Sunday will mark the 17th day that Nabers has been in the concussion protocol.
