Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

Randall Cunningham’s not scrambling anymore: How the ‘Ultimate Weapon’ found peace – The Athletic
As the years passed and old wounds healed, he rarely made it back to Philadelphia for games. When he did, he’d go in disguise, pulling his hoodie tight and slipping on his sunglasses. He wanted to sit in a suite where he could watch in peace. He didn’t want to sign autographs. He didn’t want to pose for pictures. He didn’t want to relive the past. Then, at February’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, he ditched the disguise. No suite. No hoodie. No sunglasses. Instead, the 62-year-old wore a head-to-toe Eagles “Flysuit” with his name and number on the back. For three hours, Randall Cunningham cheered like a Philly diehard while his old team thumped the Chiefs for the franchise’s second Super Bowl. “Greatest game I’ve been to,” he says. A few hours later, he pulled out his phone and fired off a text. “What I didn’t fulfill,” he wrote to Jalen Hurts, “I’m fulfilling through you.”

Eagles sign rookie minicamp tryout wide receiver/returner – BGN
Jackson is signing with the Eagles as an undrafted rookie free agent after not being selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. The 23-year-old attended Philly’s rookie minicamp on a tryout basis and apparently impressed the team enough to warrant a roster spot. Jackson attended Michigan from 2019-2020 before transferring to Washington, where he played from 2021-2024. The majority of the super senior’s production came last year, when he had 85 receptions for 893 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns. He also logged 33 rushing attempts over six years for 183 rushing yards (5.5 average) and two rushing scores. Jackson also brings returning experience to the table. He returned 71 kickoffs for a 24.4 average and two touchdowns. He returned 25 punts for a 7.2 average.

The Eagles have a simple-but-smart approach on Day 3 of the draft – PhillyVoice
The Eagles made eight picks on Day 3 of the 2025 draft. They understand that their batting average isn’t going to be high on Day 3 prospects. Maybe two or three of those guys will eventually become starters. If so, it will be a great draft, as Roseman said. Maybe they won’t find any starters among those eight guys. But if you draft a prospect to be a backup and that’s exactly what you get, then you basically just wasted a pick on a player you could have found in any number of other ways that would’ve cost you nothing.

A.J. Brown proposes to girlfriend with the help of John Legend – ESPN
A.J. Brown announced his proposal to his girlfriend Kelsey Riley on Saturday — with the help of none other than John Legend. It’s been a ring-filled few months for the wide receiver, who helped the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX in February. Now, Brown will add a ring for his personal life to one earned in his professional one. The elegant proposal featured the award-winning musician Legend serenading the couple as he played a piano.

Why Eagles rookie doesn’t care if you think he’s too small – NBCSP
Mac McWilliams heard it a lot during his pre-draft process. Heck, he’s heard it his whole life. You don’t have to tell him. He knows he’s undersized. “I try really not to think about it,” McWilliams said on Friday as the Eagles kicked off their rookie minicamp at the NovaCare Complex. “I go out there with the same mindset. I’m the biggest out there. That’s how I feel. So just having that mindset, I really feel like it takes me (far).” The Eagles used a fifth-round pick (No. 145 overall) on McWilliams a week ago on Day 3 of the NFL draft. After McWilliams began his career at UAB, he transferred to UCF in 2024 and had a strong enough season to get drafted. And he’s been undersized the whole time.

2006 NFL Redraft: Rebuilding the first round based on PFF grades and data – PFF
14. Philadelphia Eagles: EDGE Elvis Dumervil, Louisville (Round 4, Pick No. 126). Original pick: DI Brodrick Bunkley, Florida State. The Eagles needed depth on their defensive line after finishing 2005 with the sixth-fewest sacks in the NFL. Future two-time first-team All-Pro Elvis Dumervil would’ve provided that. Dumervil finished his career with 105.5 sacks and posted an elite 90.2 PFF pass-rush grade from 2006 to 2014.

Donovan McNabb Jr., the son of the former Eagles quarterback, is making a name for himself – Inquirer
He’s especially enjoying his time with Donovan Jr. on the football field. Recently, McNabb became the quarterbacks coach at Brophy Preparatory School in Phoenix, where his son plays wide receiver alongside rising seniors Daylen Sharper and Devin Fitzgerald, who are the sons of former NFL stars Darren Sharper and Larry Fitzgerald. Brophy’s football program is ranked sixth in Arizona and 16th nationally by MaxPreps. It just saw graduate Benjamin Morrison, a cornerback out of Notre Dame, get selected in the second round of the NFL draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Eagles cut former 49ers third-round pick – Niners Nation
San Francisco has struggled to draft running backs during the Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch era. First came their miss in 2017 when drafting Joe Williams in the fourth round. Then, they missed on Sermon in the third round in 2021 (although they struck paydirt with Elijah Mitchell in the sixth round). After that came the Tyrion Davis-Price pick in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. San Francisco elected not to take a running back in the 2023 NFL Draft before landing Isaac Guerendo with a trade-up in the fourth round last year. Guerendo rushed for 420 yards and five touchdowns on 84 carries as a rookie, while catching 15 passes for 152 yards. Then, in this year’s draft, they took Oregon’s Jordan James in the fifth round. Guerendo is expected to back up starter Christian McCaffrey with Jordan Mason gone, while James should compete for the RB3 role with veteran Patrick Taylor Jr. Who knows? Maybe if one of the recent draftees at running back doesn’t work out, they’ll head to the Eagles, too. But, for 49ers’ fans’ sake, let’s hope that we don’t get there.

Report: New Packers tush push proposal will ban all pushing – PFT
Mark Maske of the Washington Post reports that, when the owners meet in Minneapolis on May 20 and 21, they are “expected to consider a revised proposal that would prohibit a teammate from pushing or pulling a ballcarrier anywhere on the field.” […] Two, the Eagles will still run the quarterback sneak on a regular basis. It will still look like it currently does, but for the mini-cluster of players around and behind quarterback Jalen Hurts. And it will still be effective — because it’s far more about the push that happens at the front of the play and less about the push that happens behind it. The whole thing makes the league look petty. One team has cracked the code on how to get an easy yard or two. The other teams don’t like it. And so, absent any reliable injury data, the league is sounding a safety alarm and/or citing aesthetics and trying to level the playing field by taking away the Eagles’ signature play. Here’s hoping that the likely change won’t change anything, and that the best strategy will be to tell the other teams to: (1) come up with a way to stop it; and/or (2) figure out how to use it.

Report: Washington D.C. will host 2027 NFL draft – Hogs Haven
Reports came out last night the Washington Commanders had won the bid to host the 2027 NFL draft. This has been a goal of managing partner Josh Harris; in fact, last year, he talked about the prospect of eventually hosting the draft on the National Mall. That is the plan for the event that is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of fans to the city. Harris is also planning to bring the team back to D.C. by building a new stadium on the site of the former RFK Stadium.

Legion of Blueprint: Brian Schottenheimer taking familiar approach to building Cowboys – Blogging The Boys
Brian Schottenheimer may not have been there for the Seahawks’ peak, but he saw what a championship culture looks like. By the time Schottenheimer arrived in Seattle following the 2017 season, the Seahawks had already won a Super Bowl after appearing in the big game two straight years. They had also just missed the playoffs for the first time in six seasons, and were looking for a bit of a reset, hence Schottenheimer’s hire. It was a strange time in Seattle. Pete Carroll had quickly turned the organization around after posting losing records his first two years, winning it all by Year 4. He did it with a combination of fundamentally sound schemes, strong personalities with a knack for leadership, and a collective chip on the shoulder. As hard as it is to win in the NFL, though, handling success can also be just as much of a challenge. And the Seahawks team that Schottenheimer joined was experiencing that.

‘One of one’: Cam Skattebo brings unique running style to New York Giants – Big Blue View
Lance Zierlein of NFL.com called Skattebo a “carnage creator” in a pre-draft scouting report. “I think that describes him very well,” Bourguet said. “There’s so many words you can try to describe him with — tough, physical, passionate. “He’s going to give you everything he’s got every single play. You saw him throwing up in games just from everything he was pouring out onto the field.” Bourguet calls Skattebo “one of one” and says his patience as a runner and ability to catch the ball out of the backfield are attributes that make him more than just a power back. Bourguet believes these under-appreciated characteristics will help Skattebo succeed. “He has great hands as a receiver. He can catch the ball out of the backfield,” Bourguet said. “That’s a quarterback’s dream, to be able to put your running back one-on-one with a linebacker or safety in space.” Patience to allow blocks to develop is another trait Bourguet believes Skattebo has worked hard to develop.

49ers turned down enticing trade offer for George Kittle before NFL Draft, per report – SB Nation
Months of negotiation ended shortly after the draft when All-Pro tight end George Kittle signed a 5-year, $91.4M extension. However, before that deal was cemented there was a stunning deal on the table the 49ers passed on — one that perhaps they should have thought about. Diana Russini of The Athletic is reporting that prior to the NFL Draft the 49ers were offered a second round pick for Kittle.
