After months of teasing, Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 finally offered a glimpse of the game’s primary antagonist, The Prototype. Until now, fans had only seen the character’s needle-fingered arms, briefly visible under a closing door.
The Prototype, also known as Experiment 1006 or “The Claw,” has been the mastermind behind the sinister events in Poppy Playtime. As the main antagonist, it orchestrated the “Hour of Joy” incident, setting the stage for the horrors that followed.

In Chapter 4: Safe Haven, the story takes a turn so shocking, it’ll give you whiplash. The entire episode reveals a lot of new information on the lore, finally giving fans a concrete answer on what has been going on at the Playtime Co. since before its inception, and also introduces some important characters that have played key roles in the story behind the scenes.
With Kissy Missy and Poppy being the only trusted allies, players proceed toward the end of this chapter. However, a shocking revelation upends the whole narrative: Ollie, the mysterious entity from the previous chapters, who had been guiding us through the hell of Playtime Co. right from the start, is revealed to be The Prototype in disguise.
This bombshell is quickly followed by another – a literal explosion that separates the player from Poppy. As the floor collapses, Kissy Missy attempts to save the player, but her arm is torn off in the process.
The player finds themselves further deep underground (seriously, how far down does this place go?), finding themselves in a mysterious lab. Alarms blare when the player enters, and an old enemy decides to revisit us, bringing the story full circle: Huggy Wuggy.
The stage is set for another terrifying chapter in the Poppy Playtime saga. Could the next one be the last?
