Thursday Night Football: Texans vs. Jets
Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season will kickoff with a Thursday Night Football game featuring the Houston Texans (6-2) on the road against the New York Jets (2-6).
The Jets lead the all-time series between these teams, 7-3, and have won their last two meetings. They last faced off back in early-December 2023, with the Jets pulling off one of those weird wins at home, 30-6.
The Texans offense is just devastated by injuries, most-recently losing Stefon Diggs for the season to an ACL tear. Still, while this might be a good game for the Jets to steal a win, it would (and will) be comical to watch Aaron Rodgers struggle to do anything with the opportunity. Robert Saleh’s defense would definitely be up for the task against this Houston team, but the Jets’ defense hasn’t looked nearly as good without the former head coach.
