Tiger Woods live score: Updated Masters leaderboard, results, highlights from Thursday’s Round 1
Tiger Woods is seeing green.
The five-time champion returns to Augusta National for his 26th appearance in the Masters, hoping to leave with a sixth green jacket — a feat that only Jack Nicklaus has accomplished thus far.
Woods’ road back to the course hasn’t been easy. He’s been plagued by injuries, which nearly cost him his leg following a car accident in 2021. Despite the many challenges, Woods is going to play through the pain in an effort to continue being part of a game he loves.
“I hurt every day,” Woods said in a press conference on Tuesday. “I ache every day. I prefer warm, humid, and hot [weather].”
We haven’t seen Woods on the course since he withdrew from the Genesis Invitational in February. Regardless, Woods’ quest to win the Masters for a sixth time begins at 1:24 p.m. ET, when he’ll tee off alongside Jason Day and Max Homa at Augusta National.
With storms expected to impact the opening round, Woods’ status will be something everyone has eyes on. The Sporting News is tracking Tiger’s scores, highlights, and placements from the first round of the 2024 Masters.

— The Masters (@TheMasters) April 11, 2024The 48-year-old looked great in his return to the golf course. He was moving well and had a positive day with the club, finishing the first 13 holes at 1 under. The real test will come on Friday when Woods plays 23 holes. Although if Thursday was any indication, the concerns shouldn’t be too high as Woods tries to make the cut for the 24th consecutive time at the Masters.

— The Masters (@TheMasters) April 12, 2024Hole 13, Par 5Shot 5: Sure enough, he taps in for an easy par on what was a solid day for Woods.
Shot 4: Woods plays it safe again, leaving it a little short. He should have no problem tapping in for par and putting the finish on a successful day.
Shot 3: After escaping danger, Woods twirls the club and puts the ball on the green, continuing what’s been a solid showing for the 48-year-old. The horn sounds, however, signaling that this will be the last hole of play today.
Shot 2: A ground ball through the hole for a trip back to the fairway was on the menu for Woods, who opted to play it safe.
Shot 1: That was the first wayward tee shot we’ve seen in a while from Woods, who finds the trees. He might have to chip one out to the fairway or hit a low ball to avoid more danger. This one won’t be easy.
Hole 12, Par 3Shot 3: Dead center from Woods, who saves par from five feet out to walk away from the 12th at 1 under.
Shot 2: The second shot does land on the green and that chance to save par does come to fruition.
Shot 1: Woods misses the green and sends one into the pine straw. He should be able to land the next one on the green with a chance to save par.
Hole 11, Par 4Shot 4: Mother Nature didn’t have anything to say and Woods taps in for the easy par.
Shot 3: OH WOW! A picture-perfect shot from Woods essentially guarantees par unless Mother Nature has something to say. That was a beautiful approach taken by Woods.

— Fore Play (@ForePlayPod) April 11, 2024Shot 2: This shot lands just short of the green, which is overall a good spot to be in. He should be able to chip it onto the green for another par opportunity.
Shot 1: Another quality drive from Tiger into the fairway is how he’ll start the 11th. He’s been solid off the tee today, outside of a couple of miscues early on.
Hole 10, Par 4Shot 4: Mark it down — par at the 10th.
Shot 3: A BEAUTY! Woods extracts that ball from the bunker and settles it next to the hole. This should be another par, which would be his seventh of the day.
Shot 2: That initial result did prove costly as Woods puts one in the bunker.
Shot 1: The tee shot is fine, but not great. He’s on the fairway, but the angle isn’t a good one to land this ball on the green.
Hole 9, Par 4Shot 4: He drops it in for par to stay at 1-under.
Shot 3: Woods flirts with a birdie, but the ball had other ideas. He’ll tap in for an easy par after another well-played hole.
Shot 2: Tiger drops one onto the green, with some work left to do, but he’ll have a good chance to snag another par for the scorecard.
Shot 1: Another beauty off the tee from Woods. A 177 MPH drive travels 312 yards to the right side of the fairway. He is locked in and showing no signs of breaking down as we approach the halfway point of the opening round.

— Golf on CBS ⛳ (@GolfonCBS) April 11, 2024Hole 8, Par 5Shot 4: BURIES IT! Woods birdies the eighth with a nice two putt to put a bow on a great sequence.
— FanDuel Sportsbook (@FDSportsbook) April 11, 2024Shot 3: Woods sets himself up with a chance to go back to 1-under.
Shot 2: Another solid shot lands on the green, with about 41 feet and two shots to go if Woods wants to secure a birdie here.
Shot 1: There’s been plenty of talk about Woods’ injury, but the guy is hitting lasers right now, sending this one 324 yards into the fairway.
Hole 7, Par 4Shot 4: Sure enough, another par.
Shot 3: A great shot out of the bunker means that another par is likely on the menu for Tiger.
Shot 2: Perhaps there was some luck in the air as he runs one up into the bunker. It’s not an ideal result, but that at least gives him a chance to make something out of a bad situation.
Shot 1: It won’t be a lucky start to the seventh, as Woods drops one in the rough amongst the trees off the tee.
Hole 6, Par 3Shot 3: KNOCKS IT DOWN! No doubt about that one, as Woods two putts the sixth to stay even on the day.
Shot 2: A bad read sees the ball off to the right of the hole, where there’s some work left in this putt to save par.
Shot 1: Woods follows in the footsteps of Homa at the sixth, landing his tee shot on the green before it tumbles back down off the hill with no real chance of a birdie here.
Hole 5, Par 4Shot 4: Despite failing to capitalize on a couple of chances, Woods is safely in with par at the fifth. That keeps him at par for the round, which is a good start, but one that will have Woods wondering how much better it could’ve been.
Shot 3: That one never stood a chance. Woods leaves it well short of the hole and now will try to save par.
Shot 2: That was easy. He’s on the green after a gorgeous second shot and will have a chance for birdie coming up.
Shot 1: That’s some easy power from Tiger, who rockets the tee shot 298 yards, dropping a beauty in the fairway.
Hole 4, Par 3Shot 4: He settles for bogey, bringing his scorecard back to even through four.
Shot 3: NEARLY! Woods just barely misses and should be able to tap in for bogey.
Shot 2: He can’t get that one to check up either, as the ball breezes by the hole and ends up four yards away.
Shot 1: While Max Homa went for the hole and Jason Day went for the trees — twice — Woods opted to play it safer off to the left. Unfortunately for him, that ball also missed the green.
Hole 3, Par 4Shot 4: He taps it in, securing the par. While Woods might feel he’s missed some opportunities thus far, it’s hard to not be encouraged by the start.
Shot 3: Woods leaves it a little high and will have to settle for another par.
Shot 2: The ball waves at the hole as it goes by, refusing to check up next to the flag. That leaves some more work to do, with a 12-foot putt coming up for birdie.
Shot 1: He drops in another beauty off the tee, with just 23 yards left to go at the third hole. Woods avoided danger at the bunker, giving him a great chance to post a good number here.
Hole 2, Par 5Shot 5: SAVE! Woods knocks down the par with ease, keeping him at 1 under through the first two holes.
Shot 4: Or maybe not. The fourth shot gives Woods a good chance to save par after landing the shot five feet from the hole. This would be a big save for him after taking one shot left handed.
Shot 3: His third shot lands beyond the green, landing amongst the paying fans in attendance. It might be tough to save par here at the second.
Shot 2: Tiger found his ball hugging a tree after that rough tee shot. That’s no challenge for this golfing legend, however, who casually chips it back to the fairway with a left handed shot. Nicely done.

— Frankie Borrelli (@FrankieBorrelli) April 11, 2024Shot 1: Woods has, fittingly, found the woods after his second tee shot goes wayward. He’ll have plenty of work to do in order to continue this storybook beginning.
Hole 1, Par 4The birdie on the opening hole was just the second time Woods has accomplished that feat at the Masters. The only other time he managed to do that was in 1999.
Tiger Woods records a birdie at No. 1 in the first round of the Masters Tournament, making birdie on his first hole of the Masters for the second time in his career and first since 1999.
It was his ninth career birdie on No. 1 in any round.
— PGA TOUR Communications (@PGATOURComms) April 11, 2024Shot 3: Back like he never left! Three perfect shots to open the day for Woods gets him a birdie to start his week at Augusta.

— PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) April 11, 2024Shot 2: Woods is coming out firing, landing his second shot to within eight feet of the pin.
Shot 1: A beautiful 272-yard drive off the tee sees Woods’ first shot land safely in the fairway. As he said on Tuesday, anything off the tee box is where he struggles. That’s where we’ll get a true gauge of how Tiger’s doing.
