Time to get a Super Eagles call-up? Maduka Okoye wins POTM award at Udinese

Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has won the Player of the Month Award for February at Italian Serie A club Udinese, Soccernet.ng reports.

Okoye has rediscovered his form since his transfer to Udinese in the summer. After impressing at Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam, the Nigerian goalkeeper sealed a transfer to Watford.

Unfortunately, he failed to make a name for himself, as he got just one appearance in the English Championship last season. His performances for the Super Eagles have also not helped his cause, as he has often been maligned because of his constant errors.

Eventually, Okoye moved to Udinese last summer, and things have begun to look good for him. He started slowly at the club, but he has grown to become an important player.

This season, Okoye has registered three clean sheets in 12 appearances for Udinese. Also, he has not committed any error leading to a goal.

With Okoye in goal, in February, Udinese lost just one game. They also beat Juventus, with the Nigerian goalkeeper registering six saves in the game.

Following his impressive performances, Okoye has now been rewarded with the Udinese Player of the Month Award.
