Things haven’t gone great for Levis in his first full season as Tennessee’s starting quarterback. He went into the surrender cobra position on the field after throwing a pick-six to Tyrique Stevenson in a 24-17 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 1.

Levis found a way to top himself in Week 2 by attempting a shovel pass to Tyjae Spears on 3rd-and-goal that was recovered by New York Jets linebacker Quincy Williams. The Titans were leading 7-0 at the time with a chance to at least extend their advantage to 10 with a field goal.

The Jets went on to win the game 24-17. Titans head coach Brian Callahan was seen on the sidelines yelling at Levis as he was walking back to the sidelines after the turnover.
Callahan was critical of Levis’ decision-making during his postgame press conference.
“It was dumb,” Callahan told reporters. “It was the same exact thing he did last week, and he cost us points in the red zone, and that is what it is. He’s a grownup and he knows better, and so I was really irritated that he cost us three points in a game that we probably needed it.”
Despite that criticism, Callahan did note he saw improved play overall from Levis with “how he moved in the pocket, where he had his eyes, just everything about playing the position was better in Week 2.”
Levis’ five turnovers through two games are the most in the NFL. The Titans have been competitive in each of the first two weeks, but they have been unable to close out strong thus far.
The Titans will go for their first win of the season on Sunday when they host the Green Bay Packers at Nissan Stadium.
