Hall of Famer Darrelle Revis said Tom Brady was “bawling his eyes out” as he addressed the New England Patriots locker room in 2015 after the team was accused of deflating footballs during the AFC Championship game.
Revis addressed “Deflategate” during “The Dynasty: New England Patriots,” a documentary series airing on Apple TV+.
“When Deflategate happened and Tom was the headliner of the whole situation, he addressed us as a team,” Revis said, per TMZ. “You could tell he was distraught. He was actually bawling his eyes out in front of us.”
Patriots owner Robert Kraft and five-season New England wide receiver Danny Amendola also told viewers the incident was “difficult” for Brady, per TMZ.
As a result of the team’s use of deflated balls in the 2015 division title game against the Indianapolis Colts, Brady began the 2016 regular season by serving a four-game suspension, while the Patriots were fined $1 million and lost two draft picks.
Revis played a single season with the Patriots in 2014, where he was named to the All-Pro roster and helped lead New England to victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX. He was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2023 after 11 NFL seasons.
The next two episodes of “The Dynasty” will be released Friday.
