Top Division Two Matchups Week 8 (MEGA Version)

Hello Justin Berendzen from Draft Diamonds with the top Division Two Football matchups from Week 8. There are so many great division two matchups that this week I’m doing a mega version. So below are all the great matchups that should be worth watching/attending in week 8.

Harding University at Ouachita Baptist University

If someone asked me the one division two matchup you should go to in week 8 it’s this one hands down definitely a test for Harding on the road. The Tigers offense is led by grad running back Kendel Givens who has 386 rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns to this point in the season. Givens will be matched up against the 2 defensive linemen from the Bisons senior Gage Price who has 7 TFLs and 4 sacks this year and senior Wesley Coleman who has a great inside presence on the defensive line. Harding’s offense is led by senior running back Blake Delacruz who has 327 rushing yards and 10 touchdown rushes in 2024. Ouachita’s defense is led by senior linebacker Jax Miller who has 46 tackles and 5 1/2 TFLs and senior defensive lineman Mikey Gonzalez who has 10 TFLS and 6 sacks this season.

University of Charleston (WV) at Frostburg State University

Very interesting Mountain East matchup here. Frostburg State is led offensively by redshirt sophomore running back Owen Doyle who has 451 rushing yards, and 7 touchdown rushes this season. The Golden Eagles defense is led by grad defensive back Ra’Shaad Morris who has 3 interceptions in 2024. Charleston’s offense is led by redshirt junior running back Chavon Wright who has 1,074 and 19 rushing touchdowns and is a total beast of a running back. In Wright’s way will be 2 Bobcat’s first senior defensive end Yasir Holmes who has 10 TFLs and 5 1/2 sacks and senior defensive lineman Leonard Scott who has 8 1/2 TFLs and 3 1/2 sacks in 2024.

Slippery Rock University at California University of Pennsylvania

Tough PSAC Conference matchup in this one between the Rock and the Vulcans. California PA’s offense is led by senior quarterback Davis Black who has 1,576 passing yards and 13 touchdown passes this year. In Mr. Black’s way will be senior defensive back Josh Stokes who has 8 PBUs this season for SRU. The Rock’s offense contains senior running back Chris D’or who has 439 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns in 2024. Senior defensive back Dominic Solomon Jr leads the Vulcans defense with 36 tackles and 4 PBUs this season.

Wingate University at Limestone University

Bulldogs against the Saints in this one. Dustin Noller Limestone quarterback has 1,916 passing yards and 20 touchdowns passes this season. Up against Noller defensively will be grad defensive end Marquise Fleming who has 12 1/2 TFLs and 5 sacks this year for the Bulldogs. Wingate’s offense is led by redshirt freshman Ethan Wallace who has 248 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns in 2024. The Saints defense has fifth year defensive back Alonzo Johnson who has 25 tackles and 5 PBUs in games this season.

Grand Valley State University at Saginaw Valley State University

Could be a fun one here in the GLIAC. The Cardinals are led by senior defensive lineman Leonard Henry IV who has 12 1/2 TFLs and 8 sacks in the year so far. Offensively for Grand Valley they have sophomore running back Khalil Eichelberger who has 545 rushing yards and 6 touchdown rushes in 2024. The Lakers defense has junior defensive lineman Niles King who has 9 TFLs and 5 1/2 sacks this season. Eric Craft, junior wide receiver, leads the way for Saginaw Valley with 289 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns in 2024.

Fort Hays State University at Pittsburg State University

Tigers at the Gorillas in another interesting matchup. Pittsburg State’s offense contains redshirt senior wide receiver Jack Roberts who has 414 receiving yards and 3 touchdown receptions this year. Defensively for Fort Hays State they have senior defensive lineman Myles Menges who has 7 PBUs, 5 TFLs and 4 sacks in 2024 games to this point. The Tigers offense has senior wide receiver Jayden Horace who holds 424 receiving yards and 4 touchdown receptions this season. Defensively for the Gorillas they have redshirt senior Jack Barkley who has 31 tackles, 6 TFLs and 3 sacks in 2024.

University of West Alabama at Delta State University 

Another great matchup in a loaded week 8. Delta State has a great offensive line led by senior offensive lineman Jaelon Brown who is a dominant force out there. Going up against him will be grad defensive lineman Trevon Lambert who holds 7 TFLS and 5 1/2 sacks in 2024. The Tigers offense has grad wide receiver Khris Binion who has 291 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns this season. Defensively for the Statesmen they have Marlon Windham Jr who has 36 tackles and 2 PBUs this year.

Henderson State University vs Southern Arkansas University

This game will be a battle in the trenches. The Muleriders are led offensively by Jariq Scales who has 387 rushing yards and 8 rushing touchdowns this season and leading the way for Scales is senior offensive lineman Colton Grier who is a monster on the offensive line. The Reddies defense contains redshirt junior defensive lineman Gary Lewis who has 10 1/2 TFLs and 3 sacks this year. For Henderson State’s offense they also have a great offensive lineman senior Brandon Bishop who dominates opponents. Going up against Bishop will be senior defensive end Dawson Scott who has 8 TFLs and 6 1/2 sacks this year for Southern Arkansas.
