Tottenham ready to sell defender
Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to beat Luton Town 2-1 and pick up three crucial points on Saturday afternoon.
The Hatters took a surprise lead in North London through Tahith Chong, before an Issa Kabore own goal drew the hosts level.
The match looked to be heading for a draw until Spurs captain Son Heung-Min netted the winner late on, keeping alive Tottenham’s hopes of finishing in the top four and qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
Off the pitch, it appears that those in charge of the club have made a big decision on a player’s future.
According to Football Insider, the North London club are prepared to sell Joe Rodon this summer.
The Welshman is currently on loan at Championship side Leeds United, and has been impressive for the Whites as they chase promotion back to the top flight.
Rodon has been in fine form for Leeds this season
Rodon, 26, has made 40 appearances for Leeds so far this term, and the report claims that he is likely to make his move to Elland Road permanent when the transfer window reopens this summer.
The Wales international joined Spurs from Swansea City in 2020 and has played 24 times for the club across all competitions.
The central defender spent last season on loan at French side Rennes, and was sent back out on loan to Elland Road last summer.
It is claimed that Spurs will accept an offer in the region of £10-15 million for the centre-back, as they look to raise funds and balance the books.
Rodon would be behind the likes of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero in the pecking order of central defenders in Postecoglou’s squad.
