Tottenham set to rival Villa for Gallagher, Cunha to reject Man Utd

Conte keen on Lukaku swoop

New Napoli manager Antonio Conte is hoping to land Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

The striker has been on loan at Roma this season and Conte could sign him as a replacement for Victor Osimhen.

The Evening Standard reports: “Antonio Conte has completed his return to management with Napoli, making his first order of business a deal for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.

“Conte has been out of work since March 2023, when he left Tottenham by mutual consent 10 games before the end of the season and his Spurs contract.

“The 54-year-old has jumped at the chance to take the Napoli job, and has signed a three-year deal with the Serie A side.

“Star striker Victor Osimhen is expected to leave Napoli this summer, though the likes of Chelsea have been put off by the £113million release clause for the Nigeria striker.”

Tottenham and Villa compete for Gallagher

Tottenham and Aston Villa are both keen on signing Conor Gallagher from Chelsea this summer.

With Chelsea needing to raise funds for their sustainability requirements, they could be motivated to sell the player.

The Mail explains: “Tottenham are set to rival Aston Villa in the race to sign Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher and are ready to make their move ahead of this month’s profit and sustainability deadline.

“Spurs have a strong interest in the England international and are preparing to make an offer for the Blues star, who is also a target for Atletico Madrid.

“Indeed, Tottenham sense an opportunity to secure a good value deal for Gallagher before June 30, the cut off for clubs to include transfers in their next set of accounts.

“And Spurs want to take advantage of Chelsea’s precarious position in terms of PSR and the 24-year-old contractual situation before the end of June.”

Cunha in no rush to leave Wolves

Manchester United are keen on Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, but the Brazilian is content where he is.

The Mirror reports that the 25-year-old could double his wages were he to make the move.

The paper states: “Matheus Cunha has underlined his happiness with Wolves despite Manchester United putting plans in place for a £60million swoop.

“The Red Devils have identified the Brazilian as one of their priority signings this summer. United scouts have watched Cunha on a number of occasions, and he has been identified as the perfect profile for Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

“The Red Devils are keen on doubling his £60,000 wages should he move to Old Trafford. However, they have a task on their hands to convince Cunha, who remains content in the Midlands.

“Cunha, 25, is fresh off the back of a productive season with Wolves. The former Atletico Madrid star scored 14 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions last term.”

Real rebuff Getafe interest in Guler

Real Madrid are planning on keeping Arda Guler next season, despite interest from fellow La Liga outfit Getafe.

Getafe had been interested in signing the teenager on loan for a year, but Real want to keep him on after a season blighted by injury.

The Athletic reports: “Real Madrid are planning for Arda Guler to be part of their first-team squad next season, despite loan interest from Getafe.

“The 19-year-old scored six La Liga goals across just four starts and 10 league appearances in total last season, following his transfer from Fenerbahce last summer.

“Guler had to wait until January to make his league debut after multiple fitness setbacks, include separate knee injuries and muscular problems.

“Getafe are looking to strengthen their attacking options for next campaign, with Mason Greenwood’s loan deal from Manchester United set to expire this month.”
