Trabzonspor found new plan to permanently secure Onuachu from Southampton
Turkish Super Lig side, Trabzonspor, is intensifying efforts to permanently secure the signature of Nigerian international, Paul Onuachu, Soccernet.ng reports.
After an unsuccessful six-month spell at Southampton from KRC Genk, Onuachu made a move to Trabzonspor on a season-long loan from Saint Maryâs Stadium.
Since joining the Turkish outfit, Onuachu has been in sensational form, recently netting a hat-trick in his 12th goal in 18 appearances for the Black Sea Storm, making headlines with his remarkable performance against Gaziantep FK.
Expressing his satisfaction with Trabzonspor after the game, Onuachu emphasized that the final decision rests with Southampton.
However, recent reports indicate a meeting between the Super Eagles forward and the manager of Trabzonspor Abdullah Avcı.
Initially loaned for 1.5 million Euros during the summer transfer window, Southampton is now contemplating a direct sale rather than another loan deal.
Efforts are underway to streamline the transfer process, aiming to facilitate Onuachuâs transition to Trabzonspor.
In a bid to sweeten the deal, Trabzonspor is considering offering players to Göztepe, a Turkish club affiliated with Southampton, in exchange.
This strategy mirrors previous successful transfers, such as the one involving Orsic. Last season, Trabzonspor facilitated Taha AltıkardeĆâs move to Göztepe, attracting interest from prominent European clubs like Anderlecht and Feyenoord.
