Transfer blow: Arsenal, Liverpool targets ‘increasingly likely’ to stay at Palace
Two Crystal Palace stars are reportedly ‘increasingly likely’ to remain at the club despite attracting interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.
Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi are reportedly ‘increasingly likely’ to stay at Crystal Palace this season despite being linked with Arsenal and Liverpool, respectively.
The two Palace stars have seen their futures become the subject of much speculation after impressing for Oliver Glasner’s side during the 2024-25 campaign.
Eze netted 14 goals in 43 competitive appearances, including the winning goal in May’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
The England international also showcased his creative talents with 11 assists, which represented the best tally in the Palace squad last term.
As for Guehi, he played a key role in a Palace backline that conceded just one goal in six matches on their way to lifting the club’s first FA Cup.
Eze, Guehi likely to stay at PalaceThe Palace captain has been linked with a number of clubs this summer, including reigning Premier League champions Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are believed to be keen to add Eze to Mikel Arteta’s attacking ranks before the transfer window slams shut on September 1.
However, according to The Sun, Arsenal and Liverpool could both experience disappointment in their quest to prise Eze and Guehi away from Selhurst Park.Â
The report claims that it is ‘increasingly likely’ that the pair will remain at Selhurst Park beyond the end of the current transfer window.
The Eagles are yet to receive a ‘firm offer’ for either of the duo, and they are certainly in no hurry to part ways with two key members of Glasner’s squad.Â
What is Eze and Guehi’s asking price?Eze has two years left to run on his contract, although his deal is believed to contain a ÂŁ67.5m release clause, which will expire in the middle of August.
In contrast to his Palace teammate, Guehi has entered the final 12 months of his contract, meaning there is a possibility he could become a free agent next summer.
The Eagles are understood to be demanding around ÂŁ50m to consider parting ways with the central defender this summer.
In addition to Liverpool, Guehi is also attracting transfer interest from Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.Â
