Transformers and Roaming Win Big at the 2024 Eisner Awards | SDCC 2024
The winners of the 2024 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards have been revealed at San Diego Comic-Con. Essentially the equivalent of the Oscars for the comic book industry, the Eisners highlight the best and most noteworthy releases of the past year.
No one comic book publisher really dominated this year’s awards, but Image/Skybound’s Transformers series and Drawn & Quarterly’s graphic novel Roaming were among the big winners. Transformers won both Best Continuing Series and Best Writer/Artist (Daniel Warren Johnson), while Roaming won Best Graphic Album â New, Best Writer (Mariko Tamaki), and Best Penciller/Inker (Jillian Tamaki). Other noteworthy winners included DSTLRY’s Somna for Best New Series, DC’s Nightwing #105 for Best Single Issue and Marvel’s It’s Jeff: The Jeff-Verse #1 for Best Humor Publication.
