Punjabi artist Tricksingh’s debut EP With All Due Disrespect possesses a seamless quality that makes it feel like one continuous song, divided into three tracks. In contrast, the music video for “Fucker With The Flow” stands out on its own, showcasing a magnum opus from this boundary-pushing rapper.

During a Zoom call with Rolling Stone India, Tricksingh presents a picture of determination. “I’m only giving my best from now on,” he says. At the beginning of 2024, while filming a music video, the artist experienced an accident that required extensive recovery.

Several singles — including “1234,” “Secrets” featuring AFKAP, “Stay With Me” with Hasan Raheem, “Chakkar,” and “Nehr” featuring Natasha Noorani, Salor, and Khyber13 — were released. He also debuted on the freestyle song series Red Bull 64 Bars with a track titled “History Books,” produced by Sez On the Beat. “After my accident, I didn’t release anything. When I finally sat down, this is what came out,” Tricksingh say about the inspiration behind With All Due Disrespect.

In the end, he describes writing for the EP as “cathartic.” Even more rewarding was making the music video for “Fucker With The Flow,” the EP’s opening track, directed and edited by filmmaker Shabad Sarin. Tricksingh took on the role of creative director and shares his experience of filming across 20 sets while changing looks over 20 different times. “We created a real akhada [wrestling ring]. It’s the best one [music video] of the year,” he says.

From T.V. news satire to straight-up bars to a camera and moments shared with family, “Fucker With The Flow” is all about the artist saying no matter where he’s headed – straight for legend status, as he puts it – he’ll never forget his roots. He adds in the video description, “For someone at our level to execute something like this took a lot. We give it our all, always setting the target slightly higher than what seems achievable.”

There’s a sequence where he got to film with his father while also honoring his grandfather. He says of the significance, “I come from real gun culture, unlike many who claim it. My dad worked as a farmer all his life and now I can share my story and our story.” On another level, Tricksingh compares “Fucker With The Flow” to a character akin to Eminem’s Slim Shady. “I’ll bring him out to say all the political stuff,” he adds.

On a broader scale, Tricksingh characterizes the EP as a “love letter to rage,” an emotion he believes is often seen as “taboo in Indian society.” He adds, “People will hear it and if they’re going through their office job under a shitty boss, it can be their outlet.” In a press release, the rapper elaborated on how these songs aim to evoke “pain and hunger,” which he channeled into the project and in turn give off “power to take on the world.” He adds in a statement, “I want it to be remembered as a constant reminder to never back down…we only get to do this game of life once.”

Performing next a festival series Simba Uproar in New Delhi under the special show titled Tricksingh and The Punjabi Cartel on Mar. 2, 2025, the rapper promises more this year but isn’t rushing. “I have some more songs I’m working on, but I won’t release anything until I’m creatively satisfied with it.”
