Two Eagles skill players get banged up in win over Ravens

Late in the game against the Ravens, the Eagles suffered two hits to their offense with both TE Dallas Goedert and WR/PR Britain Covey being ruled questionable to return with injuries. Goedert was sidelined with a knee injury, and Covey injured his neck on a punt return.

Goedert had three catches for 35 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game in the fourth quarter. Theyā€™ve had to rely on Grant Calcaterra several times this season, but he and Jalen Hurts have an established rapport.

Shortly after Goedert left the game, Covey was trying to get his footing on a punt return, but was falling forward head-first, and ended up right in the chest of a Ravens player. It wasnā€™t necessarily a big hit, but Coveyā€™s position was suspect, and ultimately led to him being questionable to return.

Covey saw some additional offensive snaps on Sunday, in addition to his special teams work. He was targeted once, but didnā€™t connect, and had four punt returns for 29 yards before coming off the field.

The Eagles offense was already without DeVonta Smith and Johnny Wilson, and had elevated Parris Campbell from the practice squad to help fill the void in the receiver room. As for his punt return duties, rookie Cooper DeJean took on that role while Covey was on IR earlier this season, so heā€™ll likely take that over as needed.
