Tyler Adams out for Bournemouth-Man United clash due to back spasms

Back spasms have ruled Tyler Adams out of action for the second-straight week.

Adams will miss Bournemouth’s English Premier League clash with Manchester United on Saturday, manager Andoni Iraola confirmed Friday. The U.S. men’s national team midfielder has not featured for the Cherries since March 30, serving as an unused substitute vs. Crystal Palace before missing a 2-1 loss to Luton Town.

Adams made his 2024 debut on March 13 for Bournemouth before featuring for the U.S. men’s national team in CONCACAF Nations League action against Jamaica and Mexico.

After missing the first half of the season due to a hamstring injury, Adams will be fighting to end the season on a strong note for the Cherries.

“Tyler is improving. He is out definitely tomorrow [Saturday] but it is a muscle thing,” Iraola said Friday. “I think he can continue this improvement and he can be available next week.”

Bournemouth will have six Premier League matches remaining after this weekend’s showdown with the Red Devils. Iraola has led the Cherries to a current 12th place spot and a top-ten finish remains in reach by season’s end.
