UFC 320 star was the victim of a never-before-seen finish that Joe Rogan said could have changed ‘the game’
There have been some sudden and shocking finishes inside the cage, but this one featuring a UFC 320 fighter may have been the rarest of them all.
Once a September absent of a pay-per-view comes to an end, all eyes will turn to UFC 320 in Las Vegas on October 4.
Two divisional titles will be on the line, with UFC light heavyweight champion Magomed Ankalaev running it back with Alex Pereira in the main event after bantamweight king Merab Dvalishvili defends his gold against Cory Sandhagen.
A number of notable names will look to make the most of the spotlight on the undercard, including a woman who was once the victim of a performance that stole the show at a major numbered event.
UFC THROWBACK: UFC star lived up to ‘Savage’ nickname by leaving her rival foaming at the mouth with frightening choke

The 34-year-old has eight victories in the Octagon, but one of the most memorable moments from her career actually came in defeat.
Chiasson fought Irene Aldana at UFC 279, a card headlined by Nate Diaz submitting Tony Ferguson after the Stockton star’s planned main event against Khamzat Chimaev was scrapped following the Chechen’s weight miss.
After a strong start from the Mexican, Chiasson rallied to win round two on every scorecard and looked to be in a commanding position midway through the final frame. But that all came crashing down when Aldana landed a kick to the liver while on her back, instantly folding the New Orleans native.
Fans, fighters, and analysts were all shocked by the finish, which appeared to be the first of its kind in the UFC. On commentary, Joe Rogan even suggested the move could change the shape of mixed martial arts.
“The audience doesn’t seem to know what’s going on,” Rogan said.
“Oh, my goodness. I’ve never seen that before. Look at that heel to the liver, perfectly placed.
“That just opened up a whole new angle to the game,” Rogan added. “I’ve never seen anyone get stopped from a heel kick to the liver from the ground.”

Before Jiri Prochazka collides with Khalil Rountree Jr. in a key contest at 205 pounds and a clash of ex-Ilia Topuria opponents goes down between Josh Emmett and Youssef Zalal, Chiasson will share the cage with bantamweight veteran Yana Santos (née Kunitskaya).
While Chiasson had her winning run ended last time out, the 35-year-old Russian is coming off back-to-back triumphs over Chelsea Chandler and former champion Miesha Tate.
Having risen into the top 10 at 135 pounds, Santos will now have the top five in her sights at the expense of Chiasson.
