In addition, he trains Islam Makhachev, who’s currently occupying the number one spot in the pound-for-pound rankings.
However, while the Russian has undeniably proved his skills in the cage beyond doubt, Dana White is insistent that Jon Jones is the only man worthy of claiming that accolade.
He’s even gone as far as to say that those disagreeing, ‘Know nothing about fighting’.

But despite his endless claims, Makhachev’s coach wholeheartedly disagrees, explaining that drug test failures have an enormous impact on a fighter’s legacy.
On an episode of the Javier Mendez Podcast, he said: “Dana is still insisting that Jon Jones is pound-for-pound No. 1. He has his valid points, but my valid point is I just say one thing: Lance Armstrong.
“Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France how many times? And basically he got all those titles taken away from him because of one thing: doping. And even though it was many years later that they caught him, he lost all his Tour de France (titles). Well, it’s been a fact; it’s been proven Jon Jones has been caught doping. So, I’m sorry, I think that disqualifies him just based on that alone.”
Dana White tells Jon Jones to avoid Francis NgannouWhile the UFC CEO is adamant that Jones is the greatest to ever set foot in the cage, he was once wary of the sportsman’s chances against Francis Ngannou.
Following ‘The Predator’s’ championship victory over Stipe Miocic, White sat in a press conference and addressed the stunning knockout that had just unfolded.
Impressed by what he’d seen, the businessman gave Ngannou enormous credit.
He also issued a stark warning to ‘Bones’.
