UFC News: UFC Confirms Location For June PPV Event
As expected, the UFC has locked in the first of two pay-per-view locations for the month of June, starting with Newark, N.J. June 1 for UFC 302.
The event allows UFC to continue its long-standing relationship with Prudential Center and the city, something UFC CEO Dana White holds in high importance.
“The city of Newark and Prudential Center have always been great partners to us,” White said in a promotional release Saturday night during UFC Atlantic City. “After setting a new arena record last year, I wanted to bring another huge event back to New Jersey to kick-off the summer with another big UFC event. UFC 302 is going to be fun.”
Governor Phil Murphy has been in full support of the MMA leader for quite some time and said he anticipates the event to deliver again for everyone involved.
“After the success of last year’s event, we are proud to welcome the UFC back to New Jersey,” Murphy said in a statement. “Providing an excellent experience for the thousands of UFC fans attending will not only generate economic activity for the region, but will also ensure that New Jersey is known as a premium entertainment destination.”
The main event has not been formally announced by the promotion, but a few fights have been confirmed.
At press time, here are the fights officially listed for the event. The bout order is unspecified.
