United welcomes three new Fan Reps for the 2024/25 season

Tuesday 03 September 2024 11:27

Three United supporters have been appointed to the Fans’ Forum ahead of the first meeting of 2024/25, taking place at Old Trafford this October.

Alex Hardman, Su Buckley and Steve Pember have been selected to represent United Members, season ticket holders and UK Supporters’ Clubs.

Zygmunt Baranski has been re-elected as Loyalty Pot representative for the next two seasons.

United supporters were invited to apply for vacant roles in July and we received a high number of submissions from across our global fanbase.

The Fans’ Forum convenes four times per season and is made up of fans representing United’s far-reaching and expansive supporter network and senior members from the club. The forum is an essential fan body that ensures open discussion, transparency and parity for club decisions affecting fans.

All meetings are recorded, and full minutes are published here.

INTRODUCING YOUR NEW FAN REPS

Su Buckley, season ticket holder representative:

“I have been a season ticket holder for over 35 years and have led the Warrington official supporters’ club for 30 years. In that time there has been so much change, some good, some not so good. I appreciate that we, as fans, must move with the times and should not stand still so I am keen to help make changes or at least try and influence change where possible. I cannot help to do that unless I am “at the table” with like-minded people who have the same goal, which is to do the best by the fans. I have a real passion to help those season ticket holders who are feeling like the forgotten category of fans and want to positively promote the good things that I am sure the club are doing or are in the pipeline to be rolled out. I think communication is key, so any forum which opens positive dialogue between the club and fans must been seen as a great step forward and one we must continue.”

Steve Pember, UK Supporters’ Club representative:

“I’m thrilled to get the opportunity to be a Fans’ Forum member at a time of significant change across the club. My ambition is to ensure I truly represent the official supporters’ club voice and I’m really keen to make connection with all UK Secretaries to ensure the collective voice is heard.”

Alex Hardman, United Member representative:

“I am delighted to join the Fans’ Forum and look forward to representing Manchester United fans.  Whilst on the Forum, my goal is to help the club make decisions that keep supporters at the heart of everything as we look forward to an exciting future, both on and off the pitch.”

Rick McGagh, Director of Fan Engagement commented:

“The Fans’ Forum is at the heart of our engagement with fans, and I am looking forward to working with Steve, Su and Alex – along with all our existing reps – to continue to identity ways to improve the experience of our match going fans. Our Fans’ Forum has a strong record of delivery – including around important topics such as safe standing, youth ticket pricing, fairness in ticketing policies and matchday experience for fans – and I am confident it will continue to challenge and collaborate with us in order to raise standards. I would like to thank the new reps for applying to join the group, and all existing reps for the many hours of unpaid work they do for their fellow fans and the club.”
