Brittish Williams Fails To Surrender To Prison
According to RadarOnline, Williams failed to surrender to prison on January 3. In fact, the day prior, the former âBasketball Wivesâ star filed a motion. The motion reportedly requests that her four-year federal prison sentence be reduced to 32 months.
Then, on January 4, Williams allegedly asked the court to once again delay her prison surrender. At the time, the mother of one alleged she was âunable to reportâ to the FPC Alderson prison in West Virginia âas ordered.â
Additionally, Williams is asserting that the court failed to properly calculate her sentence. Therefore, she reportedly believes the court should postpone her prison surrender until a decision is made on her motion to reduce her sentence.
Williams allegedly believes a reduced sentence could âeliminate the needâ for her to be transported between the West Virginia prison and Missouri court.
However, despite Williamsâ efforts, prosecutors opposed her request.
âEven if Williams did qualify for a potential reduction, the Government would oppose relief because she failed to report to the Bureau of Prisons as directed and she already received a more than generous disposition by way of the dismissal of counts carrying six years of consecutive mandatory minimums at the time of the original sentencing,â prosecutors reportedly stated, per RadarOnline.
The outlet reports that Williams was arrested on January 12.
Four days later, her attorney reportedly filed a motion to continue hearings regarding the previous bond Williams was granted in her case, per the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
According to RadarOnline, a judge has yet to rule on Williamsâ motion for a reduced prison sentence.

âBrittish Williams was punished today, not for fraud, but for her celebrity,â Beau Brindley reportedly told PEOPLE. âThe Court chose to treat her more harshly due to her status as a public figure rather than treating similarly situated defendants equally.â
In December that year, Williams requested that her initial surrender date of December 11 be pushed back. At the time, she asked for the delay to spend Christmas with her daughter and determine the childâs new living arrangements, per The Shade Room.
