A Brief Recap Of The Viral Attack On The Las Vegas Judge
As The Shade Room previously reported, Redden appeared before Judge Holthus for sentencing in an unrelated battery case on Wednesday, January 3.

His defense attorneys had previously advocated for him to receive probation in the case. However, due to his prior criminal record, Judge Holthus shared her intentions to give Redden a harsher sentencing.

“
I think it’s time that he get a taste of something else,” the judge told Redden and his attorneys. “Because I just can’t with that history.”

In response, Redden rushed the judge’s podium.

Redden allegedly left the judge with head injuries and a bailiff with a dislocated shoulder and 25 stitches for a face gash.

On Monday, Redden’s initial sentencing with Judge Holthus reconvened. He was sentenced to up to four years in prison for his initial battery case. Since then, everyone from social media users to TV jurist Judge Judy has weighed in on the viral moment.
