USA vs. France basketball live score, updates, highlights from 2024 Olympic men’s gold medal game

The stage is set for the gold medal match at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Host country France will take on the United States in front of a rocking home crowd at Barcy Arena in what will be a rematch of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics final.

Team USA nearly snapped its gold medal streak against Serbia in the semifinals if not for a shooting outburst from Stephen Curry and clutch plays down the stretch from LeBron James and Kevin Durant. The United States erased Serbia’s 15-point lead going into the fourth quarter and held on to come away with a thrilling 95-91 victory in a game that looked lost.

France defeated a Germany team that was rolling through the tournament to reach the gold medal round. Victor Wembanyama’s otherworldly defense helped France hold Germany to just 69 points while Guerschon Yabusele and Isaia Cordinier continued to step up offensively to help their country advance on its home soil.

Will France get revenge for the 2020 Olympics or will the United States extend its men’s basketball gold medal streak to five? The Sporting News has you covered with live updates, highlights, and more from all the action below.
