USWNT midfielder Korbin Albert joins Lyon

Korbin Albert has switched from one of France’s giants to another ahead of the 2025-26 season.

The U.S. women’s national team midfielder has joined Lyon in a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, both clubs announced Friday. Albert joins up with international teammate Lindsey Heaps, who joined Lyon herself in 2022.

Albert, 21, spent the last two seasons with PSG, scoring nine goals in 71 appearances for the club. The Illinois native won the Coupe De France with PSG in 2024.

A former U.S. youth national team player, Albert has earned 26 senior caps for the USWNT since debuting in 2023. Albert helped the USWNT win a Gold Medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics and also lift the CONCACAF W Gold Cup trophy.

Lyon is also reportedly in the mix to acquire USWNT midfielder Lily Yohannes from Ajax this summer, which could give the French side a total of three USWNT players.
