Veterans Administration, Ghana (VAG) has directed retired military personnel and military widows receiving government pensions to join any VAG district of their choice for quarterly validation to ensure the continuation of their monthly pension pay.

In a statement dated Wednesday, March 27, 2024, VAG admonished all Cap 30 Pension Associations to validate their members quarterly and submit the returns to the Controller and Accountant General for processing of their pension payments.

According to VAG, they have been instructed by the Controller and Accountant General Department for full compliance to keep their database updated.

“If you are either a military veteran or military widow who receives government pension but does not join a Veterans Administration, Ghana (VAG) District from where the quarterly validation will be taking place, you risk being taken off the Controller and Accountant General’s Pay Roll because you will be deemed dead,” excerpts of the statement signed by Major (Retired) Amadu Anicks Lawson Dinko, on behalf of the Executive Director noted.

VAG further urged all military veterans and military widows receiving government pensions to register with any nearest VAG District to avoid their pension payments being withheld.
