Victor Boniface: Bayer Leverkusen desperate to sell Newcastle United-linked star
Former German Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are desperate to sell Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface this summer amid interest from Premier League club Newcastle United, Soccernet.ng reports.
Boniface has enjoyed a decent stay at Bayer Leverkusen since he joined the club from Belgian side Royale Union SG two seasons ago.
The 24-year-old striker has contributed 17 goals and 11 assists in 51 appearances, helping them win the Meisterschale last season and a second-place finish this season.
Boniface would probably have more goals for Bayer Leverkusen if not for the injuries he has suffered.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian’s brilliance has attracted interest from some clubs outside Germany. Boniface has been linked with clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, West Ham, and Newcastle United.
In recent weeks, the speculations of a Newcastle transfer have grown stronger, as the Magpies need another striker because of the likely exit of Alexander Isak.
In a new development, per Werkself Xtra, Bayer Leverkusen are not opposed to letting Boniface leave. The Super Eagles star is even one of the players who they are desperate to sell in the summer.

Recall that in January, the former German champions were even willing to sell him to Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli. But the deal later fell through as the club decided to sign Ivan Toney instead.
This is the best time for Victor Boniface to leave
As it is, the Bayer Leverkusen squad is being ripped apart. Coach Xabi Alonso looks set to join Real Madrid, Jonathan Tah is leaving, Jeremie Frimpong to Liverpool is almost done, and Florian Wirtz is also sure to leave.

It would take a miracle for Die Werkself to not struggle badly next season, and that could affect Boniface’s value adversely.
If he wants to join a big club an command big wages, this is the just the right time for Boniface.
