Victor Osimhen could face two-week layoff after early exit in Galatasaray’s Kasimpasa stalemate

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen may be sidelined for up to two weeks after suffering an injury during Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa, Soccernet.ng reports.

The forward, on loan from Napoli, delivered a stellar performance in the first half, scoring twice to give Galatasaray a commanding lead.

Osimhen opened the scoring with a stunning strike, followed by a second goal just eight minutes later to firm end his club goal drought since May.

However, his evening took a worrying turn early in the second half when Osimhen signaled to the bench, requesting a substitution after a challenge forced him off the pitch.

Although he briefly returned to the field after receiving medical attention, he was eventually replaced by Dries Mertens.

According to reports, Osimhen felt slight pain after being pushed off the pitch, which raised concerns about the extent of the injury. The Super Eagles star is set to undergo a medical evaluation tomorrow.

If the tests reveal no lesion, Osimhen could be back in action after just three days of rest. However, if the injury proves more serious, he may face a two-week recovery period.

The uncertainty surrounding Osimhen’s fitness has cast doubt over his availability for Galatasaray’s upcoming domestic and Europa League fixtures, as well as Nigeria’s crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya.

The timing of the injury is a blow for Galatasaray, who are looking to maintain momentum in both their league campaign and continental ambitions.

Nigerian fans will also be keeping a close eye on Osimhen’s condition, hoping for a swift recovery ahead of key national team matches.
