Victor Osimhen or Leroy Sane: Who will be Galatasaray’s highest earner if Super Eagles star signs new deal at Super Lig club

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is a top target for Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Super Eagles star spent last season on loan at the club from Serie A champions Napoli, and he was massive for them, contributing 37 goals and eight assists in 41 appearances, helping the club win the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.

Osimhen is one of the biggest superstars to play for Galatasaray, and the club alongside their fans recognize that. However, getting him did not come cheap, as they had to foot his salary for the entire campaign.

Osimhen was earning just over €10 million at Napoli. So, Galatasaray took up the entire bill to land the Super Eagles star.

Following his impressive campaign for the Rams, there have been talks that they want to make his transfer permanent.

But that has come with some doubt, as Turkish clubs do not have the financial power of some of the top five clubs in Europe, but Galatasaray have been adamant that they can pay Osimhen’s transfer fee and match his wage demands.

In fact, earlier in the week, they made a statement of intent by confirming the signing of Leroy Sane, who joined as a free agent after his contract at Bayern Munich expired.

Leroy Sane signs for Galatasaray
According to Fabrizio Romano, Sane will earn €12 million after tax per season, making him the highest paid player in Turkey.

That is a incredibly high pay. If he was in the English Premier League, that would make him the second-highest paid player behind Manchester City star Erling Haaland after tax.

Despite the numerous talks about Victor Osimhen signing for Galatasaray, there is nothing concrete yet.

Recall that earlier, Soccernet.ng reported that Galatasaray were offering him big money to stay with them. The Rams were reportedly willing to pay €15 million per year after tax, which would make his wages far higher than Sane’s.

Moreover, Osimhen is a bigger asset that Sane. With what Galatasaray have set for the German forward, Osimhen’s pay would be significantly higher.

Osimhen is expected to make a decision in the coming days. But for sure, he will likely demand a bigger pay than Sane before putting pen to paper.
