Few people in NFL history have prepared more for the New York Jets than former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, and he believes Breece Hall can unlock their offense in 2024.

“The Jets are one of the hardest teams to prepare for from a skill standpoint because of Breece Hall,” Belichick said during an appearance on Underdog Fantasy. “Outstanding running back that has the ability to take the ball the distance. He’s very good in the passing game, and defensively you want to do everything you can to get the ball out of his hands and load the box.”

Stacking the box is easier said than done, though, because New York has Aaron Rodgers under center ready to throw the ball to Garrett Wilson.

“The problem is, if you load the box you’re singled out there on Wilson, and that’s a tall order,” Belichick added.

New York had sky-high expectations last season that were quickly undercut when Rodgers suffered a season-ending injury in the opener. His return means the passing game should be better, which will force opposing defenses to pay even more attention to the likes of Wilson and perhaps open up additional room for Hall.

And that would be fantasy football gold after the running back tallied 994 yards and five touchdowns on the ground and 76 catches for 591 yards and four scores as a receiver last season even without Rodgers.

The Jets are in playoff-or-bust mode with so many weapons and a future Hall of Famer leading the way at quarterback. They also don’t have to worry about Belichick preparing gameplans when they face the Patriots, as the coach and New England parted ways this offseason.

Perhaps that will mean even more yards for Hall after he ran for 178 yards and a touchdown against the Patriots in the final game of the 2023 campaign.
