Video: Here’s Your First Proper Look At Nuketown’s ‘Remaster’ In Black Ops 6
“Blasting into Black Ops” November 1st
Earlier this week, Activision announced its first free DLC map was on the way to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer. It’s the original 1950s Nuketown map and once again will be returning on 1st November 2024.
Here’s a bit about it, direct from the Call of Duty website, and you can get your first proper look at the remaster of this map in Black Ops 6 trailer above. It’s based on the same one first encountered in the original Black Ops:
“The original Nuketown is back! This homage to the version players first encountered in Call of Duty: Black Ops is an exact — though graphically much improved — version of the original, keeping the classic 1950s design of the Nevada testing site.”
This map was originally made by veteran Treyarch Map designer Adam Hoggart and released in November 2010. This remaster promises to remain “extremely faithful” to the original design and layout, down to precise placement of vehicles and other scenery.
“Recently, it occurred to me that many of our current players have never experienced the original, so they get to feel the Nuketown magic for the first time.” But Hoggatt also expressed excitement for players familiar with the original map. “I’m excited that we are bringing back the original Nuketown exactly as you remember it but looking better than ever! Those players will definitely be hit with a big wave of nostalgia. I can’t wait!”

In addition to this, the iconic location will be featured in the multiplayer launch Strike map ‘Warhead’, where you can face off in a 6v6 or 2v2 gunfight.
Activision has also noted how ‘Infected Mode’ is now available in the Zombies game mode. Along with this, Black Ops 6 players will be able to deploy to the new ‘Area 99’ Resurgence Map at the start of Warzone’s season one update.
Are you looking forward to the return of this iconic Call of Duty: Black Ops map? How about the other content rolling out? Let us know in the comments.
