Being one of the fastest athletes in the world doesn’t mean American sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson is immune to getting starstruck.

Richardson was excited Saturday to meet Snoop Dogg at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon.

“It is an honor to meet you,” Richardson told the rapper.

Richardson’s celebrity run-in came the day after she led the field of 34 sprinters with a 10.88-second 100-meter race in Friday’s opening round.

She followed that up Saturday by winning her semifinal race with a time of 10.86 seconds, and will now have the chance to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics in the final race.

The former Louisiana State runner began both races with stumbles out of the starting block, but recovered in each instance to cross the finish line first.

After winning the 100-meter world title last August at the World Athletics Championship in Budapest, Richardson could now earn her first Olympic bid with a top-three finish in the Saturday night final.

Winning that race would undoubtedly be the highlight of Richardson’s Saturday night, but it seems that meeting Snoop Dogg might come in as a close second.
