Conor McGregor is the latest mixed martial artist to try their hand at acting.

The Notorious is featured heavily in the newly-released trailer for the Road House remake starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

The original movie from 1989 starred Patrick Swayze as a bouncer with a mysterious past at a roadside bar who protects the town from a corrupt businessman who runs everything.

This version updates the story to give away that Gyllenhaal’s character’s past isn’t much of a mystery because there are scenes of him competing in UFC. It also shifts the setting from Missouri to the Florida Keys.

Details of McGregor’s character aren’t made totally clear. It seems like he’s playing Knox, since he says “Knox is on the job,” and could be doing the heavy lifting for the Billy Mangussen character.

If you’ve seen the original Road House, you know it’s best not to really think about it and just enjoy the ridiculous action. Doug Liman, who directed the remake, has strong action-movie credentials from The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow.

As long as this version gets all of the action right, nothing else is going to matter. There’s no evidence of any throat rips, but presumably, they want to save that as a surprise for fans of the original movie.

This is McGregor’s first time appearing in a fiction feature. He previously appeared in two documentaries about his life, most recently McGregor Forever on Netflix.

Road House premieres on Prime Video on March 21.
