Video: Who could steal some shine and jump some lines at UFC 299?

March 9, 2024 11:00 am ET

UFC 300 next month is the one that rightfully is getting the lionā€™s share of headlines ā€“ and itā€™s positively loaded.

But holy smokes, letā€™s just be honest: UFC 299 on Saturday in Miami is plenty stacked, too ā€“ to the point thereā€™s a legitimate argument to be made that it might be a better card than the big round number coming up a few weeks after it. Right? Right?

Time will tell, but for now, the one in the spotlight is UFC 299, and itā€™s got a big headliner with bantamweight champion Sean Oā€™Malley in a rematch against Marlon Vera. But not far below them, there are some folks who could mess things up for some of their contemporaries.

Could the winner between Dustin Poirier and Benoit Saint Denis jump the queue ahead of Justin Gaethje or the Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan winner? If Michael Page makes a huge splash in his UFC debut against Kevin Holland, could he fight fellow Brit Leon Edwards for the title and leave Belal Muhammad in the cold again? How about Jailton Almeida against Curtis Blaydes? Is there a way for one of them to get to Jon Jones quicker?

Our ā€œSpinning Back Cliqueā€ panel of Farah Hannoun, Simon Samano and Brian ā€œGozeā€ Garcia breaks it down with host ā€œGorgeousā€ George Garcia.
