Virginia Dad Surprises Newlywed Son with $1M Lottery Ticket Gift
A young man from Prince William County, Virginia, recently collected a whopping $1 million prize after his father gifted him a ticket from the Virginia Lotteryâs Cash4Life draw game. The ticket was given as a wedding gift, considering that the young man had only recently got married.
The interesting case involves a man named Aaron Andrews who used to live with his wife since April in his parentsâ basement. But after this father purchased a ticket and won the second-biggest prize from Cash4Life, the young man will look for a home for himself and his bride.
Andrewsâ father bought the winning ticket from PJâs Neighborhood Variety Store at 19122-A Fuller Heights Road in Triangle. The fortunate man, described by lottery officials as an âavid lottery player,â used the Easy Pick option. Surprisingly, the man won the August 3 drawing by matching five winning numbers.
But instead of taking advantage of the fortune, the man decided to give the ticket to his son. As a result, Andrews was given the choice to either take $1,000 per week for life or collect a lump cash sum of $1 million.
Selecting the latter, the young man recently collected his million-dollar win. Happy for his son, the father joked around and said: âThis was the best way to get him out of my basement.â
Andrews, who recently visited the Virginia Lottery to redeem the winning ticket, was similarly excited. âI have a great father who has done nothing but look out for me,â the young man exclaimed.
