Ghana’s Black Satellites face Nigeria’s Flying Eagles in the WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship final today at 7 p.m. at Stade de Kégué in Lome, Togo.

Despite both teams already qualifying for the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, the match promises intense rivalry for regional supremacy and bragging rights.

Ghana topped their group with draws against Togo (1-1) and Benin (2-2) and a 2-0 win over Niger, then defeated Côte d’Ivoire 2-1 in the semifinals.

Nigeria, after a slow start with a 1-0 loss to Burkina Faso, gained momentum with a 2-1 win over Côte d’Ivoire and a 3-1 comeback victory against Niger.

Ghana seeks to reclaim the title from reigning champions Nigeria. The winner will secure regional pride and momentum ahead of the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, which doubles as qualifiers for the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile.

Ghana last won the U-20 AFCON title in 2021 under coach Abdul Karim Zito.
