After Steph Curry sprained his ankle on Thursday in a loss to the Chicago Bulls, the Golden State Warriors struggled without their star in a 126-113 loss to the Victor Wembanyama-less San Antonio Spurs Saturday night.
With his Splash Brother out, Klay Thompson put together a solid game with 27 points and Jonathan Kuminga added 25, but their performances were from enough to get past the Spurs, who sit at the bottom of the West.
Jeremy Sochan led the way for San Antonio, putting up 20 points in the win. Keldon Johnson also added 20 of his own off the bench.
The loss had fans hoping for a speedy recovery for Curry, who proved how vital he is to the Warriors’ success through his absence on Saturday.
Anika @WardeIICurry30The Warriors are the worst team in the league without Steph Curry.
Jordan @jordanw1096The Warriors always seem to remind you that no matter how many good players they have those players are good largely because they share the floor with Steph Curry
LeStephCenter @TheChefCurry305you better not watch a single warriors game until curry returns
Kendra Andrews @kendra__andrewsThe Warriors trail the Spurs by 19 at the half with no Curry and no Wemby. Golden State is shooting just 36.4% FG on 16-of-44, and 27.8% from three.

Biased Warriors Fan (29-26) @dANIEL___mARIOnWarriors are NOTHING without Steph Curry
Anika @WardeIICurry30The Warriors lost all their January-February momentum in the past 2 games alone. They don’t deserve to make the playoffs.
Anthony Slater @anthonyVslaterThe Warriors are down 19 at half to the Spurs. Struggling to score without Curry against the league’s 23rd-ranked defense (that doesn’t have Wembanyama). They only have 43 points on 36/28/55 shooting splits. Missing many of the decent looks they’re generating.
Wajahat Ali @WajahatAliSteph Curry deserves all the money. What a shameful performance by the Warriors. This team ain’t going anywhere. Get him a number 2 please.
With the loss, the Warriors dropped to 33-30 on the season and currently sit in 10th place in the Western Conference. Golden State began building steam in February, but has now lost three out of its last four games, including a blowout loss to the Boston Celtics last week.
While Curry isn’t expected to miss significant time, the Warriors will need to step up in his absence to avoid dropping any further in the Western Conference standings.
