Interview with the Vampire: Part II has audiences in a chokehold with last week’s cliff-hanger. (Don’t pretend you don’t love it.) But if you can’t wait any longer for what’s to come on Sunday, we’ve got a twisted treat for you: a glimpse at episode 14, ominously titled “I Could Not Prevent It.”Â
But first, a bit of context: As episode 13, “Like the Light by Which God Made the World Before He Made Light” drew to a close, Louis (Jacob Anderson) and Claudia (Delainey Hayles) had finally found happiness with their respective partners Armand (Assad Zaman) and Madeleine (Roxane Duran). As promised by the version of Lestat (Sam Reid) who haunts Louis’s every thought, that’s precisely when the vampire they left for dead returns with a flourish. A bit of betrayal from Armand, and Lestat’s runaway fledglings are flung before the mercy of a public trial, put on at The Théâtre des Vampires as a very special performance.Â
That episode ends with Lestat readying to take to the stage. But the clip above shows us what happened to Louis and Claudia between being snatched and showtime.Â
“I Could Not Prevent It” will show the trial that has book-readers already at the edge of their seats. But it begins here, with modern-day Louis recalling his fear for his sister to human journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). It’s been ages since this day, but Louis’s pain feels fresh as he says, “I heard when the rats found her.”Â
Can a human heart take what will happen next? We’ll find out when Interview with the Vampire: Part II unveils its penultimate episode.Â
How to watch: Interview with the Vampire: Part II airs Sundays on AMC and AMC+.
