Watch: Free Fight — Jack Hermansson vs. Thales Leites
On Saturday night in Las Vegas one of the most experienced middleweights on the UFC roster, Jack Hermansson, will seek to impose a road block on the apparent surge of new contender Joe Pyfer up the 185-pound rankings.
Despite not quite getting to the summit of the UFC’s middleweight fold over his 31-fight professional career, the Swedish-Norwegian Hermansson is one of the most dependable, solid athletes in the division. His UFC career has seen him defeat well-regarded names like Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza, Kelvin Gastelum and Chris Curtis — as well as coming up marginally short in a razor-thin split decision loss to Sean Strickland two years ago.
Against Pyfer, though, he faces a young fighter with designs on the title and, judging by him defeating Francis Ngannou’s record on the punch machine, absolute thunder in his fists.
But to remind yourself of the danger posed by Hermansson, and especially his suffocating style of ground control, check out his third round TKO finish of former title contender Thales Leites below:
