The New York Giants made another quarterback change and are looking for a spark to turn around yet another disappointing season.

Backup passer Drew Lock may have provided it with a 28-yard run to the goal line that was originally called a touchdown but upon review was ruled out at the one-inch line.

Rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. punched the ball into the end zone on the next play for New York’s first score on a game-opening drive in quite some time.

After trailing 3-0 after Dallas’ initial drive, New York held its first lead in a game since its Week 5 win over the Seattle Seahawks.

It was also New York’s first touchdown scored on its first drive since Week 2 against the Washington Commanders, according to Patricia Traina of Sports Illustrated.

The Giants have lost seven straight contests to Dallas dating back to 2021 and have only won once in the last 15 meetings.

At 2-9, New York is in position to secure a top draft pick with further failures to win, but it would likely cost head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen their jobs.

The 2024-25 season has seen former Giants running back Saquon Barkley put up an MVP-caliber performance with the rival Philadelphia Eagles after being let go in free agency by New York, as well as six-season veteran quarterback Daniel Jones waived amid a four-year, $160M gamble by Schoen and Daboll.

A win on Thanksgiving against a hampered Dallas, who lost quarterback Dak Prescott to injury for the remainder of the season, could go a long way in the vein of retaining the two for another season.

New York hasn’t seen a winning season since 2022 and, with nine losses this year, has clinched back-to-back sub-.500 records.
