Watch Nara Smith Get Ready for the Miu Miu Show

You likely know Nara Smith as the model and TikTok star whose ASMR-tinged cooking videos constantly take over your For You Page. But this Paris Fashion Week, Smith traded in her (very chic) kitchen for Miu Miu’s front row. Arriving to the City of Light with her husband, Lucky Blue Smith, and daughter, Whimsy Lou, their youngest of three, Smith got ready with Vogue ahead of the presentation, and shared her tips and tricks to mastering a busy mom schedule. “The secret when traveling with kids is just doing it,” she says. “You black out, get to the destination, and ask yourself how you got there.”

Smith’s Miu Miu day began with a quick glam session at her hotel. For hair, Smith opted for a simple, slicked-back braid, while her makeup vibe was all about “giving a little structure to the eye,” says Smith. As her glam team got to work, the model and content creator discussed her favorite aspects of Paris. “I like the food,” Smith says. “The croissants—no one does it like French people when it comes to pastries. I’ve actually never attempted a croissant, so I will report back once I do.” (We need to see Smith making a croissant immediately.)

For the uninitiated, Smith often walks her followers through her various handmade recipes—narrating with a soft, soothing voice. “I’ve always had a passion for [cooking,]” Smith tells Vogue. “Over the last year or two, it developed into what it is now, because I was dealing with eczema and an auto-immune disease. It forced me to look at food in a different way. That’s how I slipped into making a lot of things from scratch.”

While final touch-ups were applied, the conversation moved to Smith’s kitchen essentials. “Getting sharp knives, it makes the world of a difference, and one good pan, and you’re all set,” she says. Before getting into her look, Smith also touched on her relationship with Lucky, who often makes a cameo in her cooking videos. This Fashion Month, they got to attend shows like Burberry and Gucci together, and Smith also watched her husband walk the Ralph Lauren runway in the Hamptons. “It’s always a fun moment watching him walk,” says Smith. “I like attending shows with him because he is my best friend, and it’s always fun hanging out with your best friend and work.”
